Storyline
A father (George) and daughter (Alina) embark on a busy morning journey through the city's
crowded transit system, navigating buses and trains to get to Alina’s kindergarten for a special
Parents' Show and Tell event. Along the way, Alina becomes captivated by the diverse
professionals she encounters — imagining where they are going and what they do at work, all
while George is dealing with the stress of a shipment delay which influences his perspective on
their journey. At the Show and Tell, parents from diverse professions highlight how essential the city's
transit system is in connecting workers and driving the economy. The event underscores the
importance of maintaining and evolving public transit for future generations, inspiring a vision for its
continued role in supporting the city's growth and success.

Description
As George is glued to his phone, Alina’s curiosity directs her towards the sea of people flooding out of the bus. All walks of life exit the bus, business men and women, students, and regular dressed commuters. She begins to hear a clunking sound that gets louder and louder. She focuses in on a hard hat hitting the side of a male CONSTRUCTION WORKER’S (19) bag as they walk with the crowd of people. Alina continues her gaze, as her eyes travel up and they share a brief moment of eye contact. The audience hears the sounds of a construction site as the daughter looks at the worker in wonder, imagining who they are and what they do. Alina start’s to daydream. The construction worker has a hard hat on and a high visibility vest as he directs a worker in an excavator dumping dirt. (TBD - depending on scout we will see what construction sites we find and what scene we can create)

Description
Alina looks out the window as the bus pulls away and sees a crowd of people waiting for the next bus to arrive. The crowd of people consist of someone in a wheelchair, students, business men and women, and regular dressed commuters. Alina zones in on a female SCIENCE TEACHER (30), with reading glasses stuffed into her front chest pocket, standing on the sidewalk, looking down the street to see when the next bus will come. As Alina watches the science teacher grab her glasses out of her pocket, she begins to hear bubbling and clinking of glass. Alina goes back into a daydream. The science teacher goes to grab her goggles out of her lap coat pocket and puts them on. She looks down at the beakers where smoke is coming out of one of them.
