Storyline
The Unauthorized Hallmark(ish) Parody Musical is a fast-paced, high-camp, heartfelt holiday romp that lovingly skewers every TV holiday movie cliché while embracing the cozy, sparkly spirit of the season.
Think “Schmigadoon!” meets “SNL Holiday Special” by way of a Broadway spectacle, with nods to Annie, Little Mermaid, Phantom, and Miss Saigon—if all those musicals were wrapped in tinsel and drenched in gingerbread-scented satire. The humor is meta, referential, and absurdly sincere, with a wink to the audience but a full embrace of the genre’s emotional core. It walks a fine line between parody and homage—it knows it's ridiculous, but it also really means it.
Ideal performers are fearlessly funny, vocally strong, and able to play big while grounding their character in truth.
