Roles
Role type | Role | Gender & Age range |
Supporting | LISA BENNET | Female 40 - 45 Years old |
Description 2 DAYS OF SHOOT$250 USD PER DAY Description: Female supporting character, 40’s, worn out but kind from working for the government for 15 years. Appearance: Lisa wears clothes that are comfortable and appropriate for her work—but nothing snazzy, nothing chic. She just wants to get to work, help kids and go home. She doesn’t wear a lot of makeup or take the time to do her hair. It’s likely to be in a pony tail or under a hat instead of being straightened or curled—because that is faster and this job isn’t about being pretty. It’s about helping people. She wears shoes that don’t hurt her feet. Not ugly and not plain—just average. 40’s, 5’6ish. Personality: Lisa is a kind soul who is perfect for the job she has. She loves working with kids, loves finding them adoptive parents, hates when something goes wrong and has been known more than once to stay the night with a child who is crying for any reason. She does her job well, cares more than she should and wouldn’t have it any other way, even when the pay is only mediocre and she has far too many kids to be checking on. She knows it’s the job and if she can help one kid today, that makes it worth it for her. Character arc: Lisa’s story is one of support for Sophie at all costs. Throughout the story, Lisa will be a champion pushing for Sophie to get the safest, most loving choice made at all times. No matter the chaos, Lisa wants Sophie to be safe. It might even mean breaking a law to get records, or even getting Sophie to come with her to keep her safe from other chaos. Whatever it takes—Lisa knows her duty and she will stick to it.
Role type | Role | Gender & Age range |
Supporting | DAROLD RENAULT | Male 40 - 45 Years old |
Description 2 to 3 days of shoot$250 usd per day Description: Mousy, driven male supporting character, an investigative reporter who never quits when he sense a story. 40’s, thin, smart. Appearance: Darold is a thin, wiry guy who wears glasses because he spends so much time typing on a computer. He dresses in suits that come off the rack, focuses more on the story than his own beard stubble and is surprisingly fast on his feet. He’s very determined in everything he does, and it shows. Tall, thin, at least 6’. Glasses and a hat at all times. Personality: Darold is a throwback to the old reporters of the 1950’s, those guys who dug into a story like it was the last donut at the shop, really going for it and never giving up until they had the story’s complete jelly filling. Darold is the best investigative journalist in town, and it’s not because of his brains (though he is smart.) It’s not because of his looks (although the rugged, disheveled reporter type is pretty sexy in its own way.) It’s because he is like a dog with prey in his sights—he never quits and never stops until he’s completed the job. This makes him fantastic when you want him to uncover something and a real nightmare when that something is your own secret. He can’t be bought, but because he wants a story so bad, he can be tricked. Character arc: Darold begins the tale simply looking for a good news story, for once, instead of all the stories of corrupt and evil people. A fairy-tale ending for an adopted girl into a family of love. But as he starts getting info, he learns first that Sophie’s real parents left her at birth and the records all seem to have vanished. That’s enough to trigger his investigative nerves and from there, he begins to seek out the truth. When Sophie ends up sick, his investigations become even more sharp. Now there’s more than a good news story—there’s a girl to be saved and that is what Darold intends to do. Those parents are out there and he will find them. No matter what.
