Storyline
At a beautiful but shabby lakeside resort ( Breakwater ) in the California mountains, in a world where climate change has contaminated the water supply resulting in the worst drought on record. A wealthy pregnant woman ( Mallory - Cast ) living out her escapist fantasy, falls in love with a younger woman ( Kai- Cast ) who is starting her life over. After sharing a room to save money, they fall into a sudden intimacy complicated by the upcoming birth, the turbulent social events when Kai befriends Nik and her rowdy group of friends. Their clashing values, when Mallory's longtime girlfriend arrives and the betrayal of what it means to care for a future you cant believe in.
