Storyline

Set in Scarborough, Ontario. Jenny Garcia is weeks away from graduating middle school. She’s about to enter a pivotal summer of her life where she sees high school ahead on the horizon and her childhood in the rearview mirror. She’s the captain of a successful dance crew comprised of a group of friends (aka "Unlawful Entry"), including her BFF and her first crush. Life for Jenny is cruising right along... until, out of nowhere, something jumps onto the road causing Jenny to slam on the brakes: Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Cancer. In the blink of an eye, a new road is laid out for Jenny – a road full of treatments, medical stays, and immunotherapy. But where on that road is room for real life? Where is there room for friends, for fun, for dance? Finding that new “real life” is what this story is all about.

This is the English-language adaptation of the French-Canadian series JENNY, a cultural phenomenon in French Canada that sold to more than 20 countries, it was the first live action series from French Canada acquired by prestigious broadcasters such as Canal+ France and Kika Germany. The Emmy nominated series has won numerous awards and has massive reach in Quebec on social media amongst kids and their parents. This new adaptation will honour the best parts of the original series but tell the story through a specific cultural lens that will resonate through its universality.
