While he’s a religious man who wrestles with his faith, as a soldier he is an ultimate professional. A reassuring presence to those under his care. Lee is the Chief Biologist. She is also a skilled physician whose bedside manner could best be described as blunt. Mistrustful of other people, her detachment intimidates others. She has a self-destructive streak which makes her explosive and almost as chaotic as Tempkin. Her past personal life is littered with the flaming wreckage of relationships gone horribly wrong, and she continues that tradition going forward. She grew up worshiping Strauss, who she saw as a fellow iconoclast, but the relationship soured months before we meet her. Lee is never one to shy away from challenging and questioning authority, and although that makes her incredibly difficult to get close to, she almost always makes excellent points. Barkov is an Operations Manager and a closed book. Very cagey and cold, he is secretly Tempkin’s handler. He has an acerbic wit and can turn up his intimidation level at the drop of a hat. He is just as formidable strategically as he is physically. Should have a Russian accent.

The casual and personable Deputy Mission Director, his is the more human compliment to Strauss’ firm leadership. He’s almost too funny and considerate for the leadership position he will suddenly be thrust into.

Lopez is an astrophysicist who seems chemically unable to mistrust or suspect the worst in people. An idealist like her department head Gorski, she learns the hard way not to take things at face value. A nerdy optimist. Possible UK or AUS accent.

Okafor’s right hand soldier. A true believer in chain-of-command. Rigid to the point of inflexible.
