Storyline
Bill Prudich (writer/producer/co-director) brings a deeply compelling new work to life with "Good Boys Anonymous". With a career spanning decades, Bill has appeared in projects including Palm Royale, Welcome to Chippendales, Lucifer, La La Land, Baby Daddy, The Muppets, Fame, and many more. A champion of nuanced storytelling and strong performances, he is thrilled to premiere this original play, which explores the complexities of identity, expectation, and what it truly means to be “good” in a world shaped by others’ definitions.

Good Boys Anonymous is a 55-minute ensemble piece with 7 voices, built as a confessional-style group meeting about the pressure to be “good,” the wounds that shape that identity, and the ways people learn to survive it.

The Hollywood Fringe Festival is one of the largest and most dynamic live theater events in the country, drawing between 50,000 and 60,000+ audience members annually. With over 400 productions and approximately 2,000 performances, it’s a high-energy, high-visibility platform for artists to showcase their work. Recent years have seen record-breaking attendance, underscoring the festival’s continued growth and relevance.

Beyond audiences, Fringe offers meaningful industry exposure. Agents, managers, casting directors, and producers actively attend, supported by initiatives like the Discover Fringe Industry Program, which facilitates connections between artists and decision-makers seeking new talent. For actors, it’s not just a performance opportunity—it’s a chance to be seen, build relationships, and be part of a vibrant creative community.
Roles
Role typeRoleGender & Age range
LeadDevonMale 24 - 28 Years old
Description
Male, Black, age range 24-28. Devon clearly came from a strong church upbringing - he was the star in the gospel choir, and we can all see why. He is expressive, emotionally open and carries himself as the polished performer, while carrying a quiet shame of his past. Learning at a young age that the love and approval of his father had to be earned through masculinity, image and faith, he was (and still is) the church centered "good boy". He has internalized the rejection from an event out of his control, and now reclaims his voice . . . but this time, he does it outside the sanctuary. Strong character arc with beautifully written monologue.
Talent must be available for all rehearsals (we will do our best to schedule rehearsals around the schedules of our entire cast), and will be paying a $100 gas stipend + $50 wardrobe bump, if talents wardrobe is utilized. Additionally, we will be filming this for purposes of archival. Each actor will receive a copy so they may use this work for the reels.

LeadCaseyNon-binary 25 - 35 Years old
Description
BIPOC (black, indigenous, people of color), approximately 30 years old. They are androgynous and gender-queer/non-binary/trans-masc. Casey is guarded, with a thin, controlled exterior - used to mask the pain. They alternate between sharp sarcasm and sudden vulnerability. Like a tortoise, the tough exterior shell of sarcasm is used for protection, but the delicate being under the shell is actually quite vulnerable when you are allowed to see it. Casey was a child who buried abuse under obedience and perfection to become the adult who is (finally) beginning to admit the rage and fragility caused by that abuse. Casey has a beautifully written monologue in this work - meant for an actor to truly sink their teeth into.
