Description ARTIST MAY BE FEMALE or MALE. Lea/Leo is a happy, energetic young child with a vivid imagination. Their mother runs the ‘Hammer & Heart’ hardware store, a much-loved family business in town. ...One afternoon a couple weeks before Christmas, Lea/Leo meets a new customer at their mom’s shop, Kris, a recent resident at the Jolly Acres retirement community. There is an instant rapport between this jovial old man and child, and the more Lea/Leo observes Kris, the same question keeps popping into their head - could Kris actually be Santa?!? So when Lea/Leo learns about Jolly Acres “adopt a grandparent” program, they immediately ask Kris to be their adopted grandpa and he happily accepts! Lea/Leo knows they're adopted, so the idea of adoption is familiar. ...Lea/Leo loves a mystery and playing detective - spending time with Kris offers the perfect opportunity to put on their detective’s cap and learn more about their newly adopted grandpa and friend, Kris.
