Storyline
Imagine a world where monsters are real. Not Godzilla. Not Marvel. Something quieter, hidden in the shadows of an otherwise normal life.
Sherilyn has a secret: she’s never truly alone. Since childhood, she’s been followed by Grin, a strange, deceptively gentle-looking monster who protects her from anyone who might hurt her. But Grin has a rather extreme understanding of what protection means.
Determined to finally experience intimacy on her own terms, Sherilyn invites Ted, her boyfriend, a sweet and trusting young man, into her bedroom. With Grin lurking in the shadows, she attempts to keep her protector under control long enough to let herself get physically close to someone. But when an innocent accident triggers Grin’s violent instincts, the night spirals into a bloody nightmare, as he rips Ted to shreds right in front of Sherilyn.
As Sherilyn confronts the devastating consequences of a lifetime spent under Grin’s watch, her grief gives way to rage, and a disturbing truth begins to emerge. When her friend Zina arrives, her unexpected calm suggests that Sherilyn’s situation may be far more complicated than it seems.
