We can accept Union and Non-Union actors through our student agreement with ACTRA. This is a non-paying student film, and no permit is required. Actors will receive a copy of the finished film for their demo reel. Meals and beverages will be provided on the shoot days. If transportation is required, we can arrange a ride for the actor during filming. This film is an alternative narrative short film.
Storyline
Wax & Wane is an alternative psychological thriller that unfolds entirely within a single night’s dream. Through fragmented memories and recurring motifs, James confronts the hidden corners of his mind while in REM sleep, uncovering the subliminal feelings he holds towards his fiancée after her passing. This film explores how guilt can rewire memory in the subconscious, and asks whether self-forgiveness can finally open the door to escape the corridors of our own minds.
