We can accept union and non-union actors through our student agreement with ACTRA. This is a non-paying student film and no permit is required. Actors will receive a copy of the finished film for their demo reel.

Storyline

A chubby teen super-fan finally gets the chance to meet her favorite pop-star during a tense music video shoot, but she soon discovers that her idol's worst nightmare is having a body like hers.

THROUGH HER EYES is a coming-of-age film about how as little girls, we live freely in our bodies until women we admire remind us that this world is not kind to people with larger bodies. Amelia Grace is a jaded person, hurt by the industry, hurt by herself. Lily is the representation of the innocence of girlhood, not knowing just yet that her body is a problem. Amelia’s actions hurt Lily as much as Amelia has been hurt by other people in her life and she must change in order to heal Lily and break the chain.

Description After a hiatus, pop-star Amelia Grace is finally returning. Even though her first love is performing, she is apprehensive due to her weight gain. She pushes herself through a difficult shoot day, but gets thrown off course when she is confronted with a fan who personifies all the things Amelia hates about herself. She tries to hide her hatred of herself but it eventually comes out and hurts her fan. Amelia must learn from her fan about how hating herself so much actually hurts the little girls who look up to her even more. NOTES: Performer must be experienced in dance. Priority will be given to mid-to-plus size performers

Description Lily is a chubby teenage girl who hasn’t yet discovered that being overweight is a bad thing. She’s confident and happy, and especially innocent. Her idol, Amelia Grace, is someone she looks up to and she feels even more connected to her ever since Amelia began looking more like Lily. When she gets a chance to visit her on a music video set, she’s enamored with Amelia’s presence. She begins to worry for Amelia, as Amelia seems to be struggling with something. She discovers that Amelia hates her own body and then Lily begins to question her own looks. Amelia must make-up to her, and fix the part of Lily that she broke. NOTES: Priority will be given to mid-to-plus size performers. Priority will be given to POC performers

Description The Director is elusive and powerful, a commanding presence on the set of Amelia Grace’s latest music video. She stands out when needed, but otherwise makes herself blend in with the presence of the shoot crew. She is a perfectionist, and scrutinizes every flaw in Amelia’s performance. For her, it’s all about getting the job done right, no exceptions.

Description Amelia Grace's manager keeps a watchful eye over both her and Lily during the music video shoot. He keeps things real, with a tough-love approach, but deep down he cares about Amelia and Lily, wanting things to go well for them. He blends in seamlessly with the rest of the set crew, keeping tabs on the whole affair as needed.

Description Amelia Grace's Stylist knows the importance of executing the Director's vision.
