50s-60s, flirtatious with a sprinkle of narcissism and sleeze, Nash is a veteran critic who is the Chair of the judging panel at the Mystery Writers Convention in Founders Cove, and he's one of Allie's regrettable past flings that she tries to keep a secret. Despite his womanizing tendencies, Allie has a soft spot for Nash; she owes her career to him. He was the first critic to exhalt her talent -- his glowing reviews and uncensored honesty propelled her to success. Post-awards ceremony, Nash is murdered when he's pushed off of a fifth floor balcony, and his death is reported as a suicide... Allie knows it's not.
