Nate
Description: Nate is a stalled adult who has been living in quiet avoidance for years. He is broke, ashamed, and emotionally constipated, still carrying the trauma of discovering his father’s death as a teenager. He has built his life around control, numb routines, and not looking too closely at himself. He avoids intimacy, avoids conflict, and avoids anything that might pull the past back into the room. On the surface, Nate insists he is fine. He smiles, deflects, makes himself useful, and keeps conversations moving so nobody lingers on him. He is the guy who says “all good” while his life is clearly not. Underneath, he is adrift with no real plan, no momentum, and no sense of identity beyond what he has been running from. The only thing that consistently anchors him is his childhood friends, the same people who have been carrying him quietly since the worst night of his life. When Nate inherits his estranged father’s house, he returns to the one place he never processed. The house becomes a literal arena of memory and shame, weaponizing the things Nate tried to bury. Over one night, Nate is forced to stop running, face the truth about his father, and choose growth over self loathing. His arc is sincere: resentment to grief, repression to acceptance, shame to agency. Requirements: -Comfortable with intense emotional scenes (panic, grief, anger). -Comfortable with physical performance (running, struggling with props, staged fights, getting dirty). -Comfortable with mature themes, crude horror, and simulated bodily fluid gags. -Strong screen presence and stamina. Nate is in almost every scene.
Derick
A recently fired teacher in his twenties scrambling for his next opportunity. Once capable and motivated, he’s now grown complacent, relying on charm, quick thinking, and dishonesty to avoid real responsibility. Derick is slobbish, lazy, self-centred, and afraid of accountability, but also still endearing and deeply human. The role requires an actor who can balance fast comedic timing with vulnerability and insecurity, keeping the character relatable even at his worst.
Natalie
An intelligent, driven, slightly germophobic woman in her twenties who is looking to advance her teaching career. After months of compensating for her ex’s lack of follow-through in their relationship, Natalie has learned to set the bar high for herself and others. Though outwardly controlled and perfectionistic, she is actually deeply supportive and caring. Should project competence without coldness; someone who commands respect naturally and is emotionally grounded.
Mr. Burrows
A well-meaning but tired private school principal in his sixties who has conducted far too many interviews to truly care anymore. Rather than valuing hard work in candidates, Mr. Burrows is keener on presentation, etiquette, and corporate buzzwords. He serves as a steady, grounded presence whose subtle reactions heighten the comedy. The role suits an actor with a gentle authority and the ability to convey earnest, if not oblivious energy.
Clara Wren
Clara is a strong-willed, honest young woman who finds herself navigating the disappearance of her best friend and older sister. When Clara wakes up in a field alone, and odd things begin occurring, she must make sense of her reality...or what she perceives as reality.
Michelle Wren
Michelle is a mother haunted by grief after her oldest daughter disappeared. She is terrified of losing her youngest daughter and son. Separation and resentment begin building as she takes on an overbearing parental role in her children's lives.
Adrian Wren
Adrian is an immature teenage boy who has a big heart and tries his best to keep the peace between his sister Clara and his mother. He silently struggles to manage his trauma after his sister mysteriously disappeared.
Steven
STEVEN is an unhoused man built by years of instability and isolation. Guarded and distrustful of others, he longs for safety, comfort, and a brief escape from life. Role requires the actor to shave facial hair midway through the course of filming. This role is entirely non-verbal and performance-driven. Accents or English fluency will not affect casting. Those applying for the role of Steven can also be considered for the role of "Screaming Man."
Ralph
RALPH is a newly unhoused man he's messy, reckless, impulsive, and chaotic. Ralph moves through the world with confidence rather than caution, he relies on his charm and the kindness of strangers to survive.
Screaming Man
SCREAMING MAN briefly appears in a flashback, terrorizing Steven. Aggressive and unpredictable, he has built this threat and instability that Steven associates with his life on the streets.
Sarah
The Final Girl. Sarah is outwardly shy but internally resilient and assertive. She started dating Jake when he approached her at a book club event and was incredibly comforting and adjusted to whatever she needed. However, Sarah has noticed Jake seeming more and more agitated the closer we got to the party. When Jake ignores her at the party (where she doesn’t know anyone), she knows her worth and decides to leave. When backed into a corner she will use her quick thinking to find a way out, even if she has to fight.
Jake
The Jock Boyfriend. Jake used to be known as a player before he got weirdly religious, but that’s what led him to become devoted to Sarah. Unfortunately that religion is Satanism and he has also devoted Sarah to the Anti-christ. He drugged the punch to cause the rest of the party guests to pass out so that his cult could finally summon their unholy lord. Jake is calm, cold, and collected. He knows what he must do to summon his unholy lord and he is prepared to do whatever it takes. He knows the path of least resistance is to charm his victims into drinking the spiked punch.
Steven
Jake’s Bestie & Designated Demonologist Steven is the host of the party and is Jake’s right hand man. Through Jake, he has become a devoted member of Satanism and knows all of the spells, sacrifices, and rules. Steven tolerates Sarah even though she has taken up more of Jake’s time. Steven is much more reckless than Jake. He is down to have a good time and is mostly attracted to the mischievous/delinquent nature of the cult.
