This CATERER has done an excellent job preparing a sample menu for their clients, Brian and Jane. When dishes start mysteriously falling to the ground and people are seen addressing people who aren’t in the room, this Caterer has the good sense to make a prompt exit.

In his mid-40s. Speaks Persian fluently and English with accent. An Iranian man with a stoic and mysterious presence. He has greying hair and a salt-and-pepper stubble or beard. He carries an air of weariness, as if the weight of the years is catching up with him. His motive is initially hidden, his identity unknown, until he opens up on stage at the comedy club.

He's something of a chatterbox as the boys all meet before the Walk, and he appears confident, if a little callous, and seems very knowledgeable about the Walk.

[ARTHUR BAKER] Male, any ethnicity, Over 18 to play 18 years old. A tall, pimply boy with a sense of humor and a southern accent. Baker is from a dirt-poor family in Baton Rouge and is one of the young men competing in The Long Walk.

[GARY BARKOVITCH] Male, any ethnicity, Over 18 to play 18 years old. A small, intense looking boy with a sharp, rodent-like nose, Barkovitch is a bit of a know-it-all and one of the young men competing in the Walk. A man with a plan who's not as smart as he thinks he is, Barkovitch remains obnoxiously cocky through most of the Walk, causing friction with the other Walkers.

[COLLIE PARKER] Male, any ethnicity, Over 18 to play 18 years old. A burly tough looking guy, Parker is another boy participating in the Walk. Parker can be overly aggressive with anyone who crosses his path and will take any opportunity to use profanity while speaking.

[HARKNESS] Male, any ethnicity, Over 18 to play 18 years old. A gangly boy with a crew cut wearing horn rimmed prescription glasses, Harkness has longed to do what has never been done, write a book, a first hand account of the Long Walk, from a walker’s, and hopefully winners perspective.

[LARSON] Male, any ethnicity, Over 18 to play 18 years old. A tall boy with a shaved head and wearing a red striped track suit, Larson is Arizona’s participant in the Walk.

[PEARSON] Male, any ethnicity, Over 18 to play 18 years old. Asthmatic and wearing jeans that are too big for him, a bowling shirt and horn rimmed glasses, Pearson mostly keeps to himself on the Walk. When the loneliness starts to get into his head, he rejoins some of the other boys.

[CURLY] Male, any ethnicity, Over 18 to play 18 years old. A skinny teenager wearing sweatpants, Curly is the first to get his ticket on the Walk.
