The nurse is one of the parents who arrives late to a kindergarten "Paren't Show and Tell", and has a brief moment with the main character where they share a laugh over the shared stress of a hectic morning.

As George is glued to his phone, Alina’s curiosity directs her towards the sea of people flooding out of the bus. All walks of life exit the bus, business men and women, students, and regular dressed commuters. She begins to hear a clunking sound that gets louder and louder. She focuses in on a hard hat hitting the side of a male CONSTRUCTION WORKER’S (19) bag as they walk with the crowd of people. Alina continues her gaze, as her eyes travel up and they share a brief moment of eye contact. The audience hears the sounds of a construction site as the daughter looks at the worker in wonder, imagining who they are and what they do. Alina start’s to daydream. The construction worker has a hard hat on and a high visibility vest as he directs a worker in an excavator dumping dirt. (TBD - depending on scout we will see what construction sites we find and what scene we can create)

Alina looks out the window as the bus pulls away and sees a crowd of people waiting for the next bus to arrive. The crowd of people consist of someone in a wheelchair, students, business men and women, and regular dressed commuters. Alina zones in on a female SCIENCE TEACHER (30), with reading glasses stuffed into her front chest pocket, standing on the sidewalk, looking down the street to see when the next bus will come. As Alina watches the science teacher grab her glasses out of her pocket, she begins to hear bubbling and clinking of glass. Alina goes back into a daydream. The science teacher goes to grab her goggles out of her lap coat pocket and puts them on. She looks down at the beakers where smoke is coming out of one of them.

Edward is a veteran astronaut, calm and collected on the surface, but harboring a deep emotional trauma from a near-drowning incident during a spacewalk years ago. He is intensely controlled, obsessive about every detail, and driven by his desire to maintain power over any situation. Haunted by his past and living in the shadow of his father’s legacy, Edward is stoic, driven, and emotionally shut off from others, which leads him to conflict with Isaac. Over the course of the mission, Edward’s facade begins to crack, as he is forced to confront his trauma and face the fact that he might not return from space. His final moments reflect an emotional release, a man finally free from a lifetime of repression.

Isaac is the younger, more optimistic astronaut on the mission. Balancing a mix of intelligence and youthful energy. A highly capable pilot, Isaac brings a sense of hope to the otherwise dire situation. However, his light-hearted nature masks something more: his desire to return home, and the emotional weight he carries from losing his brother and mother at a young age. Isaac uses emotional distance as a form of self-preservation, with space—so distant from Earth—becoming his ultimate escape from the traumas he faces down below. As the oxygen levels drop, Isaac’s resolve is tested, revealing his deep emotional need to be buried back on Earth beside his family. Despite the odds, Isaac refuses to give up on the idea of returning home.

A timid, mild mannered telemarketer. Try as he might, Dan is too personable to be able to make it in the cutthroat office in which he works, not to mention impress his father/boss, Terry.

An ancient Babylonian blood demon, seductive and manipulative. Zabuthu sees Dan as a tool to be used to advance it's own desires.

A harsh, results oriented boss, and also Dan’s father. Terry only sees the value in people who sell his product, or can be convinced to buy it.

An extremely obnoxious colleague of Dan’s. Much more successful and absolutely unbearable. Mike’s pushiness and lack of a conscience makes him an excellent salesman.

A kind old lady. She is neglected by her son and is yearning for some human contact.

A nice old man content in his own company. He does not deserve what happens to him at the hands of Zabuthu.

Niamh (pronounced as 'nee-yev') is found buried in a poppy bush, hardly alive. She is shell-shocked and mute from trauma when the girls find her. She is timid, jittery, and anxious. Throughout the story, Niamh learns about love and friendship from the other girls, and in the end, she develops the confidence and responsibility to take action to save herself. Niamh is ultimately the hero of her own story. Because Niamh is a primarily mute character, there is an attached monologue for auditioning. Niamh’s character will be covered in SFX dirt, as well as an SFX bruise on her upper back.

Helena is a curious girl, and the most outspoken, inquisitive, and talkative in the group. When she finds a girl buried in the forest, she can’t help but to ask questions - and a lot of them! She is funny, and sometimes a blabber-mouth, but at the end of the day what she cares about most is helping her new friend.

Agnes is stoic and vengeful. She is a girl of few words, but she is the first to take action when action is needed. Although she can come across as quiet and angry, and sometimes overly confrontational, Agnes is ultimately a deeply empathetic girl, who will stop at nothing to save her new best friend.

Edith is responsible, and despite her age, she is the ‘mom’ friend of the group. When stuck with the task of helping the buried girl, she seems to have a remedy for anything and a solution for everything. She is a bit of a worry-wart and a lot of a know-it-all, but the best way to define Edith is as an extremely caring and helpful friend.

The Woodsman is more wood than man. He is a tree-turned-monster that lives in the forest and acts in the shadows. He buries people in his garden, grows them into trees, and uses those trees as firewood to keep his fireplace burning. He is calm, mysterious, and dark, and acts as a physical manifestation of trauma. Because The Woodsman is a primarily mute character, there is an attached monologue for auditioning. The Woodsman wears a wooden mask and gloves.

Any ethnicity: Clara is a seemingly polished, polite and put-together woman, however, internally she has become lost in maintaining this perfect persona. Always putting others' wants and needs before her own. Her confidence is tested and frustration further builds when she realizes sexually that she can not achieve release and that no amount of exploration can solve her dilemma. For this she needs to learn to finally let go of the manicured self-image, putting herself first. Clara scenes may include a wardrobe of underwear and a bra. Actors must be comfortable with the films' subject matter. An intimacy coordinator will be present on set.

Any ethnicity: A free and edgy spirit. Clara’s younger but outspoken sister. Iris lives life on her own terms, not concerning herself with the opinions of others. She is witty, direct and finds empowerment in being openly sexual; unafraid of the taboo. Although she often forgets her manners, her genuine heart more than makes up for it.

Any ethnicity: Leo possesses a sort of peculiar, lone wolf type of exterior, which surprises Clara when she finds out he is actually a sweetheart with genuine intentions. He’s kind, quiet and keeps to himself, but is not embarrassed or ashamed of his role-playing kink. His inhibitions help propel Clara’s own journey of self-discovery. The role of Leo may also include additional roles as the Stranger, Man #5 or Man #1 in the montage scenes. *Please refer to the role description of the Montage Men for the stand-in roles.
