To capture Moose, we need a voice that feels like it’s seen it all, thinks it knows it all, and has no problem in telling us so. He’s not a mascot.
Age/Tone: 40s/50s man with a “seasoned” or character voice.
Vibe and Skills
Moose is has a lived-in voice that’s understated and unpretentious. He’s witnessed every birthday party and awkward first date since forever and he’s slightly over it. At times, he can sigh like no one else. This actor has comedy and improv chops and is comfortable riffing with another performer.
The Anti-Mascot: Natural This is not a cartoonish character. He’s a real guy, and he sounds effortlessly like one. He’s slightly world wearing to contrast the bright (and sometimes clueless) optimism of Deer. Our moose is smart and has the ability to be quick witted and fast talking.
Do’s/Don’ts
Along with a sharp and quick delivery, this Moose needs to be of a lower register in tone—clearly contrasting the Younger Deer.
