The Lab is supported by Bell Media and Blink49 Studios and run through the Canadian Film Centre.
Storyline
Teni, a sharp journalism student, takes a job at a trendy wellness studio she quickly clocks as a scam. As the only Black employee, she clashes with its whitewashed spirituality, and when the studio’s guru crosses a line, she realizes it’s not just fake, it’s dangerous. By day, she sells overpriced “healing”; by night, she anonymously exposes the studio online. As its reputation unravels and a colleague joins her to reveal the guru’s misconduct, Teni must decide: burn it all down or watch it rebrand and survive.
