The Dogmatist is an intense, high-concept psychological thriller that explores the erosion of identity through a cyclical, simulated environment. We are looking for actors with a strong command of subtext and the ability to portray a gradual mental and physical descent. Due to the experimental nature of the narrative, some roles require high emotional vulnerability and physical endurance.

Storyline
The Dogmatist follows Noah, a revolutionary leader imprisoned by the authoritarian state he has long opposed. Confined within a stark cell, he is repeatedly interrogated by Amos, a calm and calculated government official tasked with dismantling Noah’s ideology. What begins as a clear power struggle between oppressor and dissident slowly transforms into a psychological duel, as Amos challenges not only Noah’s actions but the moral certainty behind them. As their exchanges deepen, the lines between righteousness and cruelty begin to blur, revealing unsettling parallels between both men’s belief systems.
Roles
| Role type | Role | Gender & Age range |
| Lead | Noah | Male 20 - 35 Years old |
Description Noah is a magnetic and highly intelligent individual who carries himself with the confidence of a man who knows something no one else does. He is a charismatic talker, capable of using empathy and logic as weapons to manipulate his captors. He begins the story as a defiant, sharp-witted revolutionary. However, as he becomes trapped in a repetitive cycle of psychological torture, his confidence takes on a more sinister, unpredictable edge. The actor must be able to portray a wide arc: moving from an articulate, composed strategist to a weathered survivor who has reached his breaking point.
| Role type | Role | Gender & Age range |
| Lead | Amos | Male 30 - 40 Years old |
Description Initially appearing as a cynical fellow inmate "Leo", Amos is revealed to be the technician or interrogator overseeing Noah’s neurological simulation. He is professional and clinical at first but becomes increasingly unhinged and emotionally volatile as the assignment fails to yield results. He is driven by a deep, personal grief—avenging a lost loved one—and carries the heavy burden of proving his loyalty to the State. The actor must balance the coldness of an officer with the raw vulnerability of a grieving father.
| Role type | Role | Gender & Age range |
| Supporting | Dr. Crowley | Female 40 - 60 Years old |
Description The clinical and detached architect of the experiment. Crowley is the personification of cold authority, viewing human suffering as mere data to be analyzed. She is a master of psychological leverage, using the vulnerabilities of her subordinates to ensure their loyalty to the state. This role requires a commanding screen presence that conveys absolute, chilling control.
| Role type | Role | Gender & Age range |
| Supporting | Guard 1 (Jeffrey) | Male 20 - 40 Years old |
Description A prison guard who finds himself caught in a moral tug-of-war. Jeffrey is the "human" element of the facility, visibly struggling with the weight of Noah’s appeals to his conscience and his role as a father. He is defined by the internal conflict of wanting to do right by his children while fearing the consequences of disobeying the state. The actor must convey the quiet, uneasy tension of a man who isn't sure which side of the bars is the right one until the system eventually forces his hand.
| Role type | Role | Gender & Age range |
| Supporting | Guard 2 | Male 20 - 40 Years old |
Description A standard, stern enforcement officer. Guard 2 serves as the primary physical authority in the cell, tasked with maintaining order through intimidation and strict adherence to protocol. This is a straightforward, high-intensity role that requires a commanding presence to deliver threats of force and keep the prisoner contained.
