Comments
This production is a short film, to be used as a proof-of-concept for an eventual feature.
Two of the four posted roles will not ultimately involve dialogue, but sides with provisional dialogue have been prepared for self-tape purposes. One of the speaking roles requires an authentic Eastern European accent. One of them requires authentic Polish.

Storyline
A film student struggling to find work in Vancouver's 'Hollywood North' jumps at the chance to work on KREW, a low-budget horror feature inspired by Slavic folklore. However, between the creepy crew members and the oppressive film director, it appears that the dark rituals on set might be more than just movie magic…
Roles
Role type | Role | Gender & Age range |
Principal | Olek | Male 30 - 39 Years old |
Description A rugged, imposing figure with a quiet intensity. Olek hides beneath a calm, almost humorous demeanor. His presence is unsettling — the kind of man who could either help you carry groceries, or drag you into the woods without breaking a sweat. He is fiercely loyal to the art of filmmaking and sees himself as Poland’s next auteur director.PLEASE NOTE: Eastern European accent required.
Role type | Role | Gender & Age range |
Principal | Stanislaw | Male 20 - 39 Years old |
Description A dutiful, soft-spoken camera assistant who takes pride in following orders to the letter. Stanislaw is earnest and eager to please, but his obedience often crosses into unsettling submission. He rarely makes eye contact, moving with quiet efficiency, always present but never drawing attention to himself. There’s a sense that he may know more than he lets on, but he would never betray the confidence of his superiors.PLEASE NOTE: Actual role will not involve dialogue, but requires expressive subtlety (body language, stillness, quiet reactions).
Role type | Role | Gender & Age range |
Principal | Elzbieta | Female 20 - 39 Years old |
Description A quiet, meticulous makeup artist whose calm professionalism conceals an unsettling intensity. She exudes restraint, rarely speaking, But her steady gaze and deliberate movements suggest she understands far more about the production than she should. There’s a duality to her presence — she could be a silent ally or a devoted participant in something sinister.PLEASE NOTE: Actual role will not involve dialogue, but requires expressive subtlety (body language, stillness, quiet reactions).
Role type | Role | Gender & Age range |
Principal | Wojtek | Male 20 - 39 Years old |
Description A commanding, pragmatic assistant director who runs the set with clipped authority and unwavering focus. Wojtek thrives on discipline and efficiency, barking orders with military precision. He seems as interested in filmmaking as he does in appeasing the director Olek at all costs.PLEASE NOTE: POLISH SPEAKING REQUIRED |
