Storyline
LOGLINE: Award winning filmmakers, Amanda Michaels and Whitney Houser, are putting together their newest project, LADY
HAWKS, a Proof of Concept comprised of a sequence of scenes lifted from the feature film script of the same name. These scenes
unfold in 1996 in Laguna Hills, California, at a time when women's basketball held little mainstream interest and was often devalued.
They shine a light on the challenges faced by five high school seniors and their committed coach as, together, they seek to take a
historically losing basketball team all the way to the state championships in a climate that cares very little for women's basketball.
LADY HAWKS will treat women's sports with the same seriousness, intensity, and respect that mens' sports have long enjoyed in
cinema, with highly-choreographed plays and camera work that conveys the power and ferocity of the sport.

Lead | WHITNEY | Female 17 - 18 Years old |
Description MUST HAVE EXCELLENT BASKETBALL SKILLS...Female, White, VERY BOYISH LOOKING, 17-18yrs old (only submit 18+, no minors)...ONLY SUBMIT 5'7" or taller...Whitney is the Power Forward for the Lady Hawks. She is resilient, understated, and known for her composure on the court in the face of extreme pressure. But she's struggling with her gender identity, which causes her to have a lot of anxiety and a tendency to second-guess herself on the court. While she's a phenomenal shooter, she doesn't like being the center of attention, and would rather be seen more as a team player than a ball hog. She does not wear any makeup. LEAD. LA LOCAL HIRES ONLY |
