Set in Calgary, the city crackles with the energy of the Stampede, a massive rodeo sweeping through the city, bringing onto the streets, as night falls, drunken revellers, addicts and drug dealers. Fresh out of prison, reformed drug dealer Ava's attempt to go straight is obliterated when her twin Tom is murdered by a corrupt police officer Bob. Ava - a witness to the shooting - is forced to run for her life and seek to protect her family and herself, clinging to the hope that somehow, even in her darkest moments, she will find redemption.
