Please note that Wintertide is a low-budget project - no trailers or honey-wagons are available for on-set accommodation. Private dressing rooms as defined by the IPA may not be available for all shoot dates. Private dressing areas will be available to all cast, per the IPA. Production will be in hiatus between December 23, 2021 and January 2, 2022. No in-person auditions will be scheduled; self-tapes are preferred. Documentation of COVID-19 vaccination may be required.

Beth lives in an isolated northern city, abandoned by most of its residents during a seemingly endless winter - the sun hasn't shone for months and doesn't appear to ever be returning. This hostile environment is maintained by volunteers like Beth who patrol the streets in shifts, moving about the endless expanse of unoccupied houses. These remaining few spend their days watching each other for signs of a debilitating depression, which sends its victims into a zombie-like trance. Those who have succumbed, the “strays” wander the empty streets alone, aimlessly. In the past, they have always been harmless victims. But now, for some reason, they’re growing more numerous, and possibly dangerous.
The strays are monitored and collected at a holding facility known as “The Inn”, a place where Beth attends in search of her father Eric who has gone missing. The Inn is a strange hybrid of extended-care facility, prison, and zoo, where family members can look in on their captive relatives who have fallen into this zombie-like depression - But there's been no sign of Eric.
...Beth may have discovered a secret antidote to the illness. Somehow, she has developed the ability to enter an alternate existence within her own dreams, capturing the spiritual energy of those in close physical proximity, and fortifying her own. The Innkeeper (the facility’s operations manager) is cautious about Beth’s seeming immunity to the disease.
Beth also works checking coats at a downtown night-club, a small live music bar which is one of the few places in town that stays open through the long dark endless winter. Her long-time friend and co-worker Nathalie is concerned about Beth's seeming immunity, herself carefully taking medication to hold of the illness. But as the plague draws nearer constantly, Nathalie grows wary of Beth's ability. ...While entering her alternative dream universe Beth begins to realize she is indeed getting sick from the illness, but only within her alternate dream world. The strange illness growing upon her body, manifested in a rash, occurs only in her dreams. Her real-world self is growing stronger, presumably on account of the alt-world exposure to the illness. ...But how long will the trick work? It is becoming increasingly clear that by involving those around her in the dream process, she is making them completely vulnerable to the illness. And the strays are up to something - they seem to be growing hostile toward Beth. As the angry horde of strays advances toward her for retribution, Beth realizes self-sacrifice
may be the only solution.
