Description Character One (Casual Cathy/Carter):A casual working professional - finally making time to grab drinks with their friend after a busy week. They are a curious mind and like to research things in their free time. You’ll likely hear them share a fun fact throughout the day about something they spotted online or researched on Wikipedia. A friendly debate over the origin of a drink gets them more than they bargained for. Test Scene 1: Character One: Who do you think came up with the Caesar? Character Two: Good question! Whoever it was, was a genius. Character One: huh, says here on Wikipedia that it was invented in Calgary by some guy named Walter Chell. Character Two: Oh really? A Canadian Icon! Character One: Did you know that it is actually Canada’s National Cocktail? Character Two: for real? Character One: Mhmm, has been since 1969! Character Two: The more you know! Cheers! Character One: Cheers! NOTE: Reading for this part may result in a casting choice for either Character One or Character Two. We are looking for tonality, clarity, and a natural charisma! Test Scene 2: Character One: Who do you think came up with this Caesar? Character Two: Good question! Whoever it was, was a genius. Mysterious stranger: Are you sure you want to know? Character One: Excuse me? Mysterious Stranger: His name was Walter Chell. A Calgary man who was bold enough to go where no others had gone before. Character Two: Isn’t it based on the bloody mary…? Mysterious Stranger: (cut in) Not everyone took too kindly to Walter shaking up the drinking game. He made enemies all around the world who wanted to steal his formula. Legend has it, he fought off a group of would-be assassins all without spilling a drop of his spicy elixir. Character One: It says on Wikipedia that the drink was widely celebrated… (Mysterious Stranger slaps the phone out of their hand mid-sentence) Mystery Stranger: It was after that Mr. Walter Chell went into hiding. And the original recipe was lost forever. Now, one week a year, restaurants devote their time to creating caesars that they think will take the crown for best caesar in town. And it's up to people like you and me… to help determine those worthy. (Mysterious Stranger now standing nearly face to face.) Character One: ...and how do we do that??? Mysterious Stranger: It’s simple. (Mysterious Stranger then breaks the fourth wall and delivers in a much more cheerful tone straight into the camera.) Mysterious Stranger: Visit participating restaurants and taste their take on the Caesar. Then head over to the Caesar Week website and vote for your favourite caesar. The winner will get braggin’ rights and a neat little trophy to put up on the mantel next to grandpapi. Character Two: Are you alright, sir? Mysterious Stranger (still into camera): Now, what are you waiting for get out there and help us crown the best caesar in town! NOTE: There is also a casting call for the mysterious stranger.
