Storyline
Southend, England. Christmas Eve. Two brothers raised in care. One carries a secret, the other wears his loneliness on his sleeve.

George and Corey have only ever had each other, yet they couldn't be more different. George provides the food, the money and the roof over their heads, and he parties hard. Corey is sick of hiding in the airing cupboard until the festivities call last orders. He's worn down, invisible and trapped in a life he never chose.

As the last guests stumble out into the brisk Christmas Eve night, Corey tries to slip away, tired of the drunken chaos and of never feeling loved by his brother. George catches him at the door, and an awkward exchange follows. It's a conversation that will haunt George for the rest of his life.

One year later, George faces the silence Corey left behind.
Roles
Role typeRoleGender & Age range
LeadGeorgeMale 20 - 28 Years old
Description
(male, playing age 25–30, Southend/Essex accent)

The older brother and the provider. He keeps the roof over their heads and the party going, and he hides everything behind a pint and a joke. He’s warm and charming on the surface and avoids confrontation at all costs, while carrying a secret about the past that he’s never shared. We’re looking for an actor who can play the easy bloke while letting us glimpse the weight underneath.
Role typeRoleGender & Age range

Description
(male, playing age 20–26, Southend/Essex, UK accent)

The younger brother. He’s shy, exhausted and quietly furious, invisible in his brother’s world and desperate to be seen. Much of the role is silent, so we need an actor with strong inner life and stillness who can hold the camera without dialogue and let years of bottled-up anger leak through the cracks.

Description
(male, playing age 22–28, Canadian accent.)

George’s mate. He’s jolly, funny and always up for a good time. He’s the life of the party, and without meaning to, he’s the one who pulls George away at the wrong moment.

Needs great comic timing and an easy, likeable energy.

Drunken party guests stumbling out the door on Christmas Eve. Each has one line. Great for actors who can bring big festive energy in a short moment
