Storyline
"Kings Of The Cup-De-Sac"
Coming of age, Comedy, Drama
Synopsis: After Mikey spends his first Halloween without his deceased friend George, the optimistic and obstinate boy holds a seance with his pals: Reece, dressed as a soccer star, Boone as Amelia Earhart, and Cody as a kitten. Dressed as an orange Ninja Turtle, Mikey and his friends gather in his candlelit, candy-filled living room to keep their spooky traditions alive.
Armed with a DIY guide he found online, Mikey leads the group through the seance, calling out to their friend. Through dismissing-jokes or demon-conjuring anxieties, his friends don’t take the idea seriously. As the night goes on, however, they fall into old memories of past Halloweens, defeated bullies, and fantasies of the future. But reality creeps up on them once again as their sweet dreams turn to bitter nostalgia.
Reece tears up the seance sheet in sudden rage, and Mikey’s hope to regain a lost friend turns to keeping the ones he still has. The cherubic boy begins to throw blankets, comic books, and candy onto the couch, recreating a past Halloween night in a last-ditch effort. Without knowing what to say or do, each boy leaves one by one. Alone in the quiet living room, Mikey quietly says goodbye to George. The hopeful child knows what he wants, and the soccer player, pilot, and kitten he wishes to keep close.

Roles
| Role type | Role | Gender & Age range |
| Lead | Reece | Male 11 - 13 Years old |
Description As a major soccer fan, Reece dresses up as his favourite player for Halloween. He is an aloof, candid boy who speaks without much care for his friend’s feelings, whether he realizes that or not. Reece does not want to participate in the seance. Wishing to stick to the plan of watching a scary movie post-trick or treating, he puts all his energy into shutting down paranormal-conversations and treating the idea like a joke. Amplified with the passing of his friend George, Reece presents himself with distance and coolness. The wall the ascetic boy sits behind is sturdy, but is tested by the vulnerability of his friends as well as the mention of his lost pal. Although Reece is petulant and often abrasive, his innocent soul shines through in the group's common love for sugar, comic books, and revenge on school bullies.
| Role type | Role | Gender & Age range |
| Lead | Boone | Male 11 - 13 Years old |
Description A cherubic, guileless boy who decides to dress up as Amelia Earhart for Halloween. Talked into participating in the seance by his pal Mikey, Boone follows wherever his friends go without much say in the decision. The vibrant child shows nerves throughout the night and reveals the close relationship he holds with his grandma, passing on warnings of her encounter with the supernatural. Unlike his friends, Boone is quite the romantic and has a not-so-secret crush on Mikey’s older sister, believing his charm can win over any lucky girl. When it comes to conflict within the group, however, Boone is a quiet sheep afraid of confrontation: he simply follows the leader with a light joke and without much debate. Like the rest of the friend group, Boone didn’t and still doesn’t talk about George with his pals, liking to think he has moved on from the tragedy. Although he doesn’t utterly reject Mikey’s idea like Reece, the innocent child, true or false, believes he has nothing to say to his ghostly friend.
