We can accept union and non-union actors through our student agreement with ACTRA. This
is a non-paying student film and no permit is required. Actors will receive a copy of the
finished film for their demo reel.

Meals and beverages will be provided on the shoot days.
If transportation is required we can arrange for a ride for the actor during filming.

Storyline

LOGLINE: Ted battles the fine line between guilt and grief after being the only survivor in his family from a fatal car crash.

Description NAME: Ted Ka-Ho Lau, MALE. Must pass as 23 years old. ETHNICITY: Cantonese *Please note we will be using SFX makeup. PERSONALITY: Ted is an only child. Has had a passion for medical practice and helping others since a very young age. Ambitious yet goofy, but works hard for what he wants. Cares a lot about his family and his close loved ones. GRIEF: Ted passes away in a fatal car crash. He can't reach out to his family, his friends, and can't let them know how he's doing. He feels guilty for leaving without a word, and never accomplishing his dreams he and his parents were so proud of him for. He'll never get to help others as he aspired to do, and his future with Annie is no more. He knows his loved ones are hurting, so he can't bring himself to show up at his own funeral viewing.

Description NAME: Linda Lau ETHNICITY: Cantonese. *Please note we will be using SFX makeup. Married to Steven Lau, TED'S FATHER. Born in Canada, her parenting style with Ted is a lot different than how she was traditionally raised. Hard-working yet not strict. Prioritizes the happiness of her loved ones and herself, and cares deeply about other people. Linda takes care of the house chores and cooking when Steven isn't home. When trying for a baby, it was challenging and she experienced a miscarriage before Ted - so Ted means the world to her and her family.

Description NAME: Steven Lau ETHNICITY: Cantonese. *Please note we will be using SFX makeup. Married to Linda Lau, TED'S MOTHER. Born in Canada but is still quite traditional. He speaks Cantonese but doesn't talk much. However, he always listens to his wife, despite not siding with her at first. Can appear intimidating but actually had a kind-heart. He is hard-working and brings most of the money home for the family. He works as a lawyer. Steven plans most of the family events, chore schedule, vacations, etc. since he doesn't trust his wife to do so. Linda and Steven struggled for a baby, and they experienced a miscarriage before Ted - it was especially hard on Linda, so Steven makes sure to always take care of her and Ted.

Description Highly passionate about his hobbies. His current fixation: playing doctor. He will play with his stuffies, his friends, and his parents when he can. He likes to finish all of his schoolwork at school so he has more time to play when he gets home. Some of his relatives worry that he is not studying enough, but he always comes home with near perfect grades. Ted likes to say what's on his mind, yet is still considerate of other people.

Description "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." - Revelation 21:4 An Angel/Prophet sent to Ted to help him overcome his grief. He is disguised as a normal old man who have also seemingly passed away, hence the reason no one notices him and he can talk to Ted, who is also dead.

Description Ted's childhood best friend and current girlfriend. Have been best friends since 2nd grade, and have been dating for 2 years since their 2nd year in university. She sees Ted's parents as if they were her own. Annie is quiet and sophisticated, and likes to observe things that are unfamiliar to her - like Ted. His goofy and outgoing personality fascinated her, but his hardworking drive and his intelligence made her fall for him without realizing. Annie has a hard time vocalizing how she feels, but feels emotions deeply. Her and Ted planned on moving in together once they secured stable careers after graduation, but now that will not be possible now that he is gone. Ted's death led to a mess of emotions, from shock to anger, grief to sorrow. The light in her life has now dimmed for good.

Description Quiet and observant, but feels more comfortable around Ted, who is her polar opposite. He's full of energy but also quite smart without trying. Ted is a lot more playful than herself, she would rather stay home and practice her 9x multipliers.
