Storyline
THE WEDDING PLANNER’S SECRET
Seven years ago, Izzie Lockerton was madly in love with Frederick Holmes, a young politician destined for greatness. But just as Frederick is elected to Congress, Izzie discovers she is pregnant. Before she can tell him, Frederick’s powerful and ruthless mother, Heather, forces Izzie to leave her son, threatening to destroy her life if she ever reveals the truth. Heartbroken, Izzie disappears and raises their daughter, Emily, on her own.
Seven years later, Frederick is a rising political star preparing to run for Senate and engaged to glamorous actress Aubrey Wales, a relationship carefully orchestrated to strengthen his political image. Meanwhile, Izzie is struggling to build a career as a wedding planner while caring for Emily, who suffers from a serious heart condition requiring an expensive, life-saving surgery.
Fate throws the former lovers together when Izzie unexpectedly becomes the wedding planner for Frederick and Aubrey’s wedding. Forced to work side by side with the man she never stopped loving, Izzie desperately tries to keep their past and Emily’s true identity hidden. But Frederick quickly realizes that Izzie’s disappearance seven years earlier was not the simple abandonment he believed it to be. As old feelings resurface, their attraction becomes impossible to ignore.
When Frederick discovers Izzie has a daughter and pays for Emily’s emergency surgery, the walls around her secret begin to collapse. Heather secretly orders a paternity test and discovers that Emily is Frederick’s daughter. Before Frederick can learn the truth, Aubrey discovers the test results and realizes that Izzie is the woman who has always held Frederick’s heart.
Determined to keep Frederick for herself, Aubrey teams up with Grant Calloway, Frederick’s political rival and her secret lover. They kidnap Izzie and Emily and use Emily’s safety to force Frederick into marrying Aubrey. Izzie, believing it is the only way to save her daughter, begs Frederick to go through with the wedding despite the fact that they still love each other.
But on the wedding day, Izzie escapes and discovers Grant has a gun trained on Frederick. She races to the ceremony and warns him just before Grant fires. Heather unexpectedly throws herself in front of her son, taking the bullet and finally sacrificing herself for Frederick.
In the aftermath, Frederick learns the truth: Emily is his daughter. He immediately embraces his new role as her father, while Aubrey and Grant are arrested for kidnapping. With the deception finally exposed and Heather’s manipulation behind them, Frederick and Izzie are free to choose each other.
Frederick ultimately wins his Senate race, while Izzie becomes one of Washington D.C.’s top wedding planners. At his victory celebration, Frederick publicly declares that there is one title he wants more than “Senator”: Izzie’s husband. With Emily cheering her on, Izzie says yes, finally giving the family that was torn apart seven years earlier the happy ending they were denied.
