Storyline
Susie Allen has spent so long being the person everyone else leans on that she's forgotten what it feels like to lean. When her sister's wedding pulls her home for the holidays, she arrives as the capable, funny, perpetually single one in a family full of people who seem to have it all figured out. The last thing she expects is to find someone with the patience to wait out her defenses. The question is whether she'll let him.
Alec Reynolds is Susie's best friend and, if he's honest, the most generous person in any room he walks into, except when it comes to his own heart. Recently stung and slow to admit it, Alec arrives in Woodhaven ready to support his best friend and keep things light. What he isn't ready for is someone who sees straight through that.
Together they navigate the warmth and chaos of a Christmas wedding that neither of them planned for, quietly discovering that the walls they've each built, however reasonable they seemed, may be the only thing standing between them and exactly what they're looking for.
