Storyline
Stories and Other Stories is a hybrid film that follows an ensemble of characters through a series of vignettes over the course of one day on the streets of Toronto. Each story will find characters seeking something, whether it's as simple as trying to find their lost cat or something more intangible like fulfilment, re-invention, or connection with others. Consisting of scripted and unscripted sequences featuring a combination of actors and non-actors, the film will follow unhurried and occasionally humorous stories that highlight unexpected situations and coincidental connections between people. This will give the film a sense of vitality and include stories such as finding a place to bury a dead sparrow, attempting to negotiate with a parking attendant, and handing out concert flyers to uninterested passersby. Through a mixture of fiction and real life, Stories will portray a nuanced and authentic portrayal of Toronto that mirrors the experience of being here.
