Storyline
Laura is a young Colombian immigrant who can physically “pass” as white in the U.S. Though she experiences microaggressions upon arrival in her new home, her situation grows dire when she is attacked by a pair of violent racists. Reeling from the assault, Laura reinvents herself as “Lauren,” dyes her hair blonde, and stops speaking Spanish. She denies her own identity, believing that blending in is the only way to survive. However, when a classmate who witnessed the attack encourages her to report it, she’s forced to confront the consequences of staying silent. Ultimately, she chooses to ask for help - calling the only safe place she has left; her mother - taking the first step towards reclaiming her voice.

| Co Star | Daniel | Male 20 - 25 Years old |
Description Must be able to speak Spanish and English.Must be Union. Daniel is a Latino immigrant whose life is already established in the United States. He is a respectful and grounded classmate who tries to help her from the first moment he sees her seeking a safe place. His actions show comfort and that he genuinely cares for her, wishing her to reconnect with her roots. He is her sign that creating a Latino community is not far from her. His encouragement to report the attack will challenge Laura's survival instinct to remain invisible, as she is meant to be seen and proud of her true identity.
| Role type | Role | Gender & Age range |
| Supporting | Man 1 | Male 26 - 35 Years old |
Description Must be Union.Dominant, entitled behaviour and overtly aggressive, Man 1 is the primary perpetrator of the racist attack. His words are intended to purely sexualize her and his actions are purely meant to physically violate Laura. He sees women as objects, as he is the physical manifestation of hostility towards migrants and becomes the sole reason for the fracture of Laura´s sense of security.
| Role type | Role | Gender & Age range |
| Supporting | Man 2 | Male 26 - 35 Years old |
Description Sarcastic and complicit, Man 2 reinforces the behaviour of Man 1. He is a perpetrator of violence through his bystander approach, but his mockery and participation contribute to the fracturing of Laura's identity. This man reinforces how harassment is normalized within group dynamics as well as how men can assert their “power” over women.. His presence intensifies Laura´s fear when the assault occurs.
| Role type | Role | Gender & Age range |
| Supporting | Julieta | Female 45 - 55 Years old |
Description Voice Actor.Julieta is Laura´s kind and caring mother who remains in Colombia. She is caring, warm and deeply rooted in Colombian traditions. She embodies emotional safety and unconditional support as most Latinas mothers do. Although she is physically distant, her voice and comforting words ground Laura during her difficult moments, making her a real safe space even if it's miles away from her.
| Role type | Role | Gender & Age range |
| Supporting | Realtor | Male 50 - 65 Years old |
Description The realtor is a polite, talkative and seemingly welcoming character. However, he is the representation of day-to-day unconscious biases. Through comments and assumptions that quickly turn into microaggressions, he introduces us to the new reality Laura will face as a minority in the U.S. He is curious about Laura's background and her almost unpredictable accent for a non-American person, but still reinforces discrimination, making her aware of her position as an outsider.
| Role type | Role | Gender & Age range |
| Extras | Latina girl | Female 19 - 22 Years old |
Description A helpless Latina student who becomes the target of racist remarks on campus. She is vulnerable in this society because of her naivety; bullied solely due to her speaking her native language. She reflects a version of Laura that is still visibly connected to her roots but is too ashamed to accept who she is.
| Role type | Role | Gender & Age range |
| Extras | Girl student | Female 19 - 24 Years old |
Description She is confident and integrated within the university. This girl is the pure reflection of what Laura is yet to become if she keeps on hiding who she truly is. As she is a white woman who has never faced prejudice and discrimination due to who she is, her ignorance leads her to participate in racist comments.
| Role type | Role | Gender & Age range |
| Extras | Male student | Male 19 - 24 Years old |
Description He is confident and integrated within the community. As a man who has never faced prejudice and discrimination due to who he is, his ignorance leads him to participate in racist comments.
| Role type | Role | Gender & Age range |
| Extras | Teacher | All 35 - 65 Years old |
Description Professional and well-intentioned, the teacher is your typical devoted instructor who has been teaching for years and has this love and passion towards the institution.
| Role type | Role | Gender & Age range |
| Principal | Michael | Male 20 - 25 Years old |
Description Michel is the typical ignorant, uneducated white man who will represent the environment Laura feels pressured to assimilate into. He has never dealt with being part of a minority or with his humanity being taken away from him, because yet again he is white guy who is a citizen of the United States of America. His casual interactions unintentionally reinforce his racist beliefs. He has no empathy and is the personification of the Republican party and typical "MAGA" rhetoric. Finally he is a representation and a metaphor for prejudice against Latinos within the U.S.
