This is a collaborative short film currently in development as part of The Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto (LIFT). Writer and director DC Dzoja was selected as the 2026 Digital Cinema Residency recipient at LIFT to develop and to work on the stop motion elements of this project.
Storyline
Sunday, now a young adult, drifts through life in a dreamlike state, haunted by strange creatures and childhood nightmares while trying to reconcile a turbulent relationship with a parent.
This project is a hybrid of live action and stop motion animation, and is reliant on very little dialogue. Queer performers are encouraged to apply across all roles!

Description Sunday is drifting in a dreamlike state and is quiet, internal, reflective, and observant, with a whole world living inside their head that carries dread and guilt that slowly morph into understanding and acceptance over the course of the film. This performance lives in subtlety, stillness, and restraint, with very little dialogue, relying instead on voice-overs. The performer should be open to adjusting their hair if needed for the character (haircut or dye). Non Binary actors encouraged to apply.. | ||
