**HADI HAS SOME LINES IN ARABIC. IMPORTANT NOTE RE: THE LANGUAGE. Hadi is a Kuwaiti character. He speaks Arabic fluently. Though there is minimal Arabic dialogue in the script we must believe the language is a part of his everyday life. We are looking ideally for an actor who speaks Arabic with a Kuwaiti accent. Similar accents with strong overlap are Eastern Saudi, Bahraini, Qatari & Emirati, and Southern Iraqi or Basrawi. We are NOT limiting the search to just these accents (actors with any other Arabic accents will still absolutely be considered). However, we'd love if you could flag the region of their Arabic in the submission. **If an actor comes from an Arabic-speaking household but doesn't speak themselves, we'd still like to consider them if they're willing to learn the lines. At this point we're doing a very wide search, but wanted to share this information.
Storyline
Farouk is a refugee struggling to settle into his new home when his nine-year-old son Hadi becomes convinced he is the target of UFOs. As the line between nightmare and reality blurs, father and son are forced to confront the depths of their loss.

Description *Please see note above re: Arabic-speaking. Imaginative, sweet, courageous, and defiant. Hadi is a young boy who's been uprooted from his home and is adjusting to a new life in Canada with his dad Farouk. Separated from his mother, who he misses deeply, and suffering from blurry memories of the war he left behind, he struggles to fit into his new Canadian world. When he's awoken by otherworldly noises and sounds, he becomes convinced he's been targeted by UFOs. As his nightly near-escapes quicken in both frequency and intensity, his relationship with his father becomes strained, and his understanding of the world begins to shift. *Has some scenes with a dog, so must be comfortable around dogs. Please include level of/experience with Arabic in submission notes. | ||
