Storyline
Nerdy crown princess Alexia “Lex” Vale is hiding in plain sight as a suburban high school senior, determined to get her diploma and be a “normal” teen before she goes home to rule a country that’s already scripted her whole life.
That plan dies the second Wesley Becker, Sea Breeze High’s star football player--living under the iron grip of a father who treats him like a future meal ticket--accidentally captures Lex’s suspiciously professional “hall monitors” shutting down a mean girl attack. On the field, Wes is the school’s golden boy. Off it, the camera he hides in his locker is the only place he lets himself imagine a different future.
As his photos pull him closer to Lex’s secret and she slowly coaxes the truth out of him about his own buried dreams, their flirty cat-and-mouse game starts to look an awful lot like a real crush--complicating everything for a princess already promised to a prince and a boy whose abusive dad will do anything to keep him on the path he chose.
