Storyline
We are filming a proof of concept for a Fashion TV show where a professional stylist gives advice on an outfit for a day to a participant who is preparing for a specific social or cultural event. For example, someone who needs to dress appropriately for a pow-wow, a cross-cultural family gathering, or a job interview abroad and feels totally lost about what to wear or for a wedding, a funeral or even an evening to meet the parents ?
This is a one-day shoot for a proof of concept for CBC, taking place arround December in either Toronto or Montreal depending where participant is located. Participants should understand this is a pilot, and they may be called back if the show moves forward.

Pictures or video of the actual event with the participant wearing the outfit will be shown afterwards or made up ones if not real event for the purpose of the first proof of concept if need be. The idea is to have a second stylist next to Christian who can bring opposite views to Christian's style, choices and also brings a different energy. Description We are looking for a participant who often finds themselves wondering, “What should I wear for this event?”, especially when facing a bit of culture shock around different dress codes in an unfamiliar social or cultural gathering. The ideal candidate has an interest in fashion but wouldn’t describe themselves as a fashionista. We’re seeking genuine individuals who are open to receiving personalized styling advice and discovering what truly suits them. Please note that we are NOT necessarily looking for professional actors or scripted performances. We want authentic, spontaneous reactions and a natural personality — someone comfortable being themselves and engaging openly with the process. An actor who may have experienced a similar situation beforehand could be interesting as well; we would simply re-enact the situation for the pilot. Just make sure to mention it in the self-tape. Candidates need to submit a short video explaining their style dilemma for this particular event — basically, how can they attend this event without feeling like a fish out of water? This helps gauge their comfort on camera and ensures their scenario fits the show’s format. Send all submissions to info@totalcasting.ca or through Casting Workbook. Think Fashion Hero style. | ||
