A new comedy musical from the writer of Evil Dead The Musical and the composer of After the Rain - Live at the Second City Toronto

Performance dates (2 weeks - 16 shows - 2 show days on Saturdays and Sundays with 4pm show and 8 pm show)

Storyline

This stage show takes the predictable plot of every cheesy Christmas rom-com on Netflix, Hallmark, and Lifetime… and combines it with 17 hilariously unpredictable songs.
This will be the world-premiere of this brand new holiday comedy and we are looking for some comedic musical theatre performers who have strong pop/rock voices, are good movers, and are ready to have some fun in our overly-happy, winter wonderland. PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A FULLY-SCRIPTED STAGE MUSICAL – THIS IS NOT AN IMPROV SHOW.
Please note that actors play multiple roles where needed, and will play CAROLERS, PEOPLE ON THE STREET, etc.

Description (He/Him. 20s – 40s) Our romantic lead. Charming, handsome, happy… but also oblivious. Women fight for his attention, and he doesn’t know why. Funny, but in a more subdued manner. Will need to be someone who moves well and is a strong vocalist.

Description (She/Her. 20s – 40s) As the arch-rival to our lead character, this woman loves Christmas, and tries to thwart our lead at every turn. She’s often pretending to be nice with a phony smile, but can turn aggressive and loud in a heartbeat. She’s a villain, but a fun villain who we grow to love.

Description THE JERK: THE JERK FROM THE BIG CITY WHO HATES CHRISTMAS. (He/Him. 20s – 40s) The ex-boyfriend of our lead character. He is the kind of jerk you love to hate. Loud. Obnoxious. Preppy. Brash. But also hilarious, and sneakily charming.

Description UNCLE NICK aka THE OLD MAN WHOSE CHRISTMAS TREE LOT IS GOING OUT OF BUSINESS. (He/Him. 30s – 50s) Jolly. Happy. It’s pretty obvious this man is Santa Claus even if he won’t admit it. He also acts as a wise narrator throughout the show. Jack Black is a good stylistic reference for the singing style, as we need a strong comic performer who can go over-the-top when needed.

Description (She / Her. 18 – 30’s) In the role of THE CHILD, this is an adult playing a 7 year-old girl. Sweet, childlike, and smarter than everyone else on the stage. She is sometimes the sole voice of reason amongst all the nonsense that surrounds her. Sings a fun Olivia Rodrigo-style number. This same actor doubles as THE BOSS: a harsh, no nonsense magazine editor in the big city.

A super sweet journalist who loves everything about Christmas, and falls in love with the Single Dad. Overly positive no matter what is happening around her. Will need to be someone who moves well and is a strong vocalist.
