Storyline
ULTRA, a feature documentary that tells the extraordinary true story of Tibi Useriu, a world-renowned ultramarathoner whose path to redemption is as grueling as the races he runs. Born into hardship in Soviet-era Romania, Tibi escapes an abusive home only to spiral into a life of crime across Europe, becoming a con artist, mafia enforcer, and armed robber. His recklessness leads to a violent capture and a decade in one of Europe’s most notorious prisons, where he faces his demons in solitary confinement. Upon release, he finds salvation in ultramarathons, transforming pain into endurance and forging a new identity as a champion athlete.
