Storyline
The first American to interrogate Saddam Hussein slowly starts to realize that the US invasion of Iraq is not as cut and dry, nor its outlook as positive, as Washington believes.

Description a translator with the US Army, Ahmed is wiry and watchful, an Iraqi-born man who has very definitive opinions about Saddam Hussein. Ahmed translates for all of John's one-on-one meetings with Saddam, and is coolly professional (but sometimes cuts linguistic corners while translating). Having lived through Saddam's reign of terror, Ahmed is utterly uninterested in the twisting geopolitics that consumes John Nixon; he simply regards Saddam as a monster who needs to be hanged as quickly as possible. His ability to convey nuanced emotions and maintain tension is invaluable in this pivotal role. Being torn between loyalty to his country, grief over his three family members killed by Saddam Hussein's tyrannical regime, and dedication to aiding the US in what he believes will create a better Iraq.
