DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT -- As I set out to write this last year, this idea came to mean something deeper as a way to explore my frustration with the way creative industries want to pigeonhole everyone, do things through a tame and limited scope, seeing people as only able to do one thing. It's frustrating and doesn't allow for the best work to get made. Also this short exists as a way to explore my anger and frustration with the lack of positive male role models in my life (both real and fictional). Since Brett is not real, he has never let me down and I can portray him in a way that I wish I saw my role models and heroes act like as I look for guidance in my life. I am using Brett as an avatar to show what accountability and growth can look like.

Storyline

A quirky, odd, dark commentary short film about a former child star working as a plumber while struggling with a crippling sex and love addiction. When a last chance opportunity presents itself, will he figure out a way not to mess it up?

Imagine if Bart Simpson were a real person, and age him up to present day, now in his mid 40s. In this satirical story, Brett Sampson is an out of work child actor, moonlighting as a plumber, struggling with a crippling sex and love addiction. He gets an opportunity to appear at a fan convention and ends up getting himself in trouble. Faced with the consequences of his actions, he attempts to try for growth and accountability in an honest, raw way.

Hurtful with a glance, knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it. The energy of a spider playing with their prey. Provocative dress (lingerie) and simulated sex involved in the role, shot above the waist only. Production is hiring an intimacy coordinator.
