A comedy-drama. Carey, a kind and somewhat naive 30-something-year-old believes that he leads a calm life with his wife, Ashley. On their way to his best friends Paul and Julie's new beach house, Ashley reveals she wants a divorce and that she's been cheating on him for the past few months. Heartbroken, he seeks advice from the happily married Paul and Julie but discovers that their secret to a happy marriage is allowing each other to have other partners. On a drunken night while Paul is away on a work trip, Julie admits to Carey that she isn't completely thrilled about the idea of Paul sleeping with other women, especially under the pretence of work. Seeking solace in each other and in wine, Carey and Julie hook up, but despite their open marriage, Paul unexpectedly doesn't take it well at all. After sleeping with Julie and seeing the other side of the coin, Carey tries to get Ashley back with new a mindset. As Ashley herself is currently self-searching by quickly moving from lover to lover, Carey seems to be accepting of it all while he explores his own feelings for Julie and Ashley, causing strain with Paul. Amidst this situation, Russ - Paul and Julie's son, is facing his own fears, bullies, and mistakes, which occasionally land him in some hot water that ends up bringing his parents together.
