FRONT DESK
Any ethnicity, any accent. A no-nonsense, by-the-book receptionist. She stays polite but doesn’t take any guff from anyone. She is not ambitious but could easily have a better job. She likes being the boss and unimpeachable.
ANDREW
Andrew, any ethnicity with a Nova Scotian accent. Andrew runs the Hockey Arena. The job is a slog but he is proud, patriotic, and caring with the players who came through. He is in a loveless marriage and fills his life with hockey and recreation. He always suspected his wife of cheating with Lloyd but could never prove it. He’s handy, hard-working, grumpy, stern, and was a champion hockey player in his youth. He can still hold his own with a case of beer but has slowed down a bit. Tough but fair.
NEIGHBOURHOOD BOY
A precocious, curious boy whose imagination is alive at all times. He’s very outgoing and friendly.
HOCKEY PLAYER
A local rec-league regular, steeped in small-town rink culture. Watches Ben during a moment reflection.
SECURITY
Security guard stationed in the lobby of McKinnon’s development office.
SERVER
A polite, slightly awkward restaurant server caught off guard by Steven’s rambling, unfiltered rant about lobsters.
WAITER
An efficient restaurant staffer working the floor of the trendy seafood spot who is told by the manager to change the music.
SAMSON
No dialogue. Steven's 7 year old son. Ben tries to get to know Samson but his questions go unanswered. Samson is a little mischevious stealing Ben's towel as he showers.
TREVOR
Trevor, athletic build, is the son of the successful estate lawyer, Alex. Trevor puts more time into his gym routine than building his career and portfolio.
LITTLE BOY
Limited English, any ethnicity, all accents welcome. Trisha's son, also a new comer to Canada. He is very excited to have received a horse in Mr. MacDonald's will.
Male 1

Male 2
All ethnicities. Male. Very Slim, long hair, awkward and slightly uncoordinated type role Strong physical comedy is essential.
Female
Very Rock n Roll, All ethnicities. Lean, athletic build. Looks like a drummer type look (doesn’t have to know how to play) She is our leader of the garage band. She’s dead serious about her music but has comedic ridiculous moments. Confident, sharp, physically expressive. Strong physical comedy is essential.
George
Ethnicity: MENA Dialogue: None Mischievous, creative and ingenious, traits that aren’t reflected in his grades. Bright but unfocused, he finds inventive ways to evade his father's authoritative actions, but his bold ideas often backfire. Must be comfortable with physical comedy.
Baba
Ethnicity: MENA Dialogue: None The “man of the house.” Quiet but commanding, whether through his silence, stern looks, or cracklings of pumpkin seeds. Must have a strong physical presence.
Graeme
Graeme is a stern and intelligent University graduate who has been given an opportunity to work abroad that he knows he must take. With taking this job he will be leaving his little brother behind in an abusive household with his father. Graeme cooks a final supper for the three of them and decides to tell them all over dinner. --Character smoking on camera for one scene (prop cigarette)
David
David, the younger brother to Graeme, has always been blamed by their father for their mothers death. From this, he's faced abuse and an overall lack of love. Yet, he still is lighthearted, sarcastic and comedic but when learning of his brother leaving soon, is suddenly hit with a fatalistic fear and gets angry with Graeme. --Character smoking on camera for one scene (prop cigarette)
George
George is a construction worker who was always angry, but got angrier when he lost his wife during childbirth. Since then, he was never the same. He's emotionally reserved and stubborn.
ESTRELLA
Ha crecido creyendo que Felipe y Teresa son sus padres biológicos y que Alicia es únicamente su tía. Sin embargo, la verdad es mucho más compleja: es hija biológica de Alicia, quien fue víctima de un ataque con ácido que la dejó hospitalizada durante meses cuando Estrella era apenas una niña. Ante esa situación, Teresa —hermana de Alicia— y su esposo Felipe se hicieron cargo de la pequeña, criándola como su propia hija. Han pasado 13 años desde que se la llevaron de la ciudad y durante todo ese tiempo se sostuvo la versión de que Alicia era solo la tía. Ahora, de regreso, Alicia desea recuperar la relación con su hija, pero Felipe y Teresa dudan que sea conveniente revelar la verdad después de tantos años de silencio. Cuando finalmente la confesión ocurre, el conflicto de Estrella es profundamente identitario: no solo descubre que le mintieron, sino que su origen, su historia y su sentido de pertenencia cambian de golpe. Como buena adolescente en plena construcción de identidad, atraviesa una crisis emocional intensa donde se mezclan traición, confusión, enojo y la necesidad de redefinir quién es y a quién pertenece.
FELIPE
Padre legal y de crianza de Estrella, a quien ha criado como su hija desde que era pequeña, después de que Alicia —hermana de Teresa su esposa— fuera víctima de un ataque con ácido que la dejó hospitalizada y en recuperación durante años. Junto a Teresa tomó la decisión de hacerse cargo de la niña y, con el tiempo, la crió como propia, construyendo un vínculo real y profundo que para él nunca fue una sustitución sino una paternidad absoluta. Durante trece años ha sostenido, junto con su esposa, la versión de que Alicia es solo la tía, convencido de que ocultar la verdad era una forma de proteger la estabilidad emocional de Estrella. Ahora, con Alicia recuperada y decidida a retomar su lugar como madre biológica, Felipe enfrenta el mayor conflicto de su vida: revelar la verdad que puede significa arriesgar el amor y la confianza de la hija que siente suya. Su lucha no es contra Alicia como persona, sino contra la posibilidad de perder a Estrella.
