Grace
Grace (17) is an Environmental Influencer. She’s also a teenage girl who is driving her parents up the wall with her constant live streaming to a dedicated audience of thousands. In a word, Grace is intense. She throws herself into any task with everything she has, whether it’s painting her room green or fighting with her parents. She’s hyper focused and not to be trifled with. (Grace speaks with a general American accent.) Must be 18+ but look young enough to play 16-17. SPEAKING ROLE.
Shelley
Shelley (late 40s / early 50s) is Grace’s beleaguered mom. She tries so hard to be proud and supportive but she just doesn’t get how her sweet little girl has grown such an intense personality. (Shelley speaks with a general American accent.) SPEAKING ROLE.
Rob
Rob (late 40s / early 50s) is Grace’s blasé dad. Unlike Shelley, he doesn’t try to understand his Environmental Influencer daughter. He just throws his hands up and says to himself, ‘what are ya gonna do.’ It’s a phase, he hopes. In the meantime, he just wants this interview to be over so he can go back to watching the game. (Rob speaks with a general American accent.) SPEAKING ROLE.
Gord
Gord is a sweet, loveable, eccentric man in his late 50s or mid 60s, who lives alone in a quirky, colourful bungalow with his pet turtle Sheldon. Gord and Sheldon have a beautiful history, but lately they haven’t been getting along, because Sheldon the turtle has discovered online shopping and won’t stop ordering toys for his tank. Gord’s frustration is breaking through his sunny, eager-to-please demeanour, and he’s starting to crack. (Gord speaks with a general American accent.) SPEAKING ROLE.
Mr. Remington
Mr. Remington (late 30s to mid 40s) is a life-long collector of ‘stuff’. He’s a nostalgia addict. When he was a kid, he probably collected Star Wars toys and kept them in their boxes while the other kids played with them. Now as an adult, he’s an obsessive collector of old-fashioned memorabilia, from vintage clock radios to Coca Cola bottles. Just don’t call him a hoarder — he hates that. (Mr. Remington speaks with a general American accent.) SPEAKING ROLE.
Mrs. Remington
Mrs. Remington (late 30s to mid 40s) is the perfect partner for Mr. Remington because she’s a collector too. They met each other at a collector’s convention, fell in love, and moved into an old sprawling run- down house where they could store all their beloved stuff. Mrs. Remington feels guilty of hoarding old paint cans in their garage, and finally convinces Mr. Remington to recycle them. (Mrs. Remington speaks with a general American accent.) SPEAKING ROLE.
Paint Store Clerk
The Paint Store Clerk (early 30s) is helpful, knowledgeable and competent. Though she is initially surprised when the Remingtons arrive at her store just before closing time, wheeling in several hand-dollies full of paint cans, ultimately she is warm and inviting, and helps direct them on how the recycling process works. NON-SPEAKING ROLE.
