Jared met his wife Emma in university while pursuing his Bachelor's degree in psychology, coming from a middle-class background with overbearing parents. His interest in addiction was sparked during a session with a former addict, leading him to pursue a PhD and eventually open his own practice. Despite his professional success and a growing family, Jared developed a severe addiction to the euphoria of recreating patients' stories, resulting in a complex persona: supportive and charismatic in meetings, but manipulative and vicious in private.

Emma grew up in a religious household and developed a love for literature, attending private schools with her parents' support. She met Jared in university, supporting his career while pursuing her dream of becoming a professor, and later started teaching kindergarten. After marrying Jared, her focus shifted to her marriage and family, causing her professional life to stagnate.

Conceited and born into extreme privilege, Ollie grew up with inattentive but wealthy parents who provided for his material needs but not emotional support. His boundary-pushing behavior led to misdemeanors and eventually serious trouble, but his affluent parents secured a skilled lawyer to avoid jail time. Instead, he was fined and sent to mandatory rehab, where he ends up at Jared's center.

Clark is an ex-athlete gentleman hiding many insecurities. A severe ACL injury in high school ended his dreams of sporting glory, leading him to a career as a real estate agent. Overwhelmed by the monotony of life, he turned to drugs and alcohol, quickly spiraling into severe addiction, compounded by a troubling sexual addiction.

Clarice, a sex worker from a middle-class family, exhibited problematic behaviors since middle school and struggled with forming friendships. In high school, she joined a bad crowd and got involved with motorcycle clubs, leading to numerous misdemeanors. She met Jared when a judge mandated her attendance at his meetings, and they soon developed a strange, cooperative relationship that fueled each other's vices.

Darrel is Jared's supervisor at the rehab clinic and has been a long-term employee. He is a work friend of Jared and steps in after Jared's downward spiral.

A masochist, hopeless and struggling, seeks guidance to liberate himself from addiction.

Son of Commodus Bishop and a well-known, astute lawyer with salt and pepper hair. He was a boxer in his younger years and has no problem with confrontation. As someone who is not afraid to throw anyone under the bus to get ahead (even his family), his demeanour comes across generally as serious - Gerald does not have time to play around. Daughter of Gerald Bishop. Girl-next-door cute but has never been the prettiest in the room. Always a runner-up and that has warranted her envious attributes, especially over her competitive family. She’s got something to prove but is timid and doesn’t know how to come out of her shell. Easily the most caring and selfless person, she however does resent it as well. As the oldest of her siblings Lori and Steven, Genevieve is a showstopper. With her dark hair and light eyes, people tend to be intimidated by her. She loves the finer things in life and is not afraid to show it. However, she is a gambling addict and has gotten into trouble multiple times with the wrong people. As the middle sibling of Genevieve and Steven, she has had a rough life. After their mom died and dad took off, she got with the wrong crowd and now lives a life of prostitution to feed and clothe her daughter Penny. Not very trusting and skeptical about everyone she meets, she holds resentment to her family - but does what she can for Penny to thrive, whatever it takes. Caucasian, approx 5'6".

Youngest sibling of Genevieve and Lori, he had so much promise growing up to eventually take over the Bishop enterprise. With dirty blonde hair and light eyes, he was handsome in his own rite. However, the abuse of substances tarnished his potential and made him thin. Not being taken seriously from his family has never allowed him to thrive. He had no choice but to embrace his inner sloth and become a lazy addict. He is kind and still tries, but not everyone is receptive. Caucasian, approx 5'11".

Walter and his ancestors have served the Bishop estate for generations. As a clean-shaven strong, handsome man with neat hair, he is studious and knowledgeable and is trustworthy with the family secrets. You will never catch him not in at least a button-up shirt and dress pants. Though he serves the Bishop estate, he does not tolerate rudeness from anyone, especially the Bishop’s. A brown-haired bright young lady of average height and the daughter of Lori Knight. Her parents are divorced and it has taken a toll on her. An aspiring actress who is receiving lessons from her Aunt Eve, her love for the arts comes in the form of bright colours and drawing. She’s very sweet but harbours a darkness within her that can make her very, very dangerous.

A younger, much more pleasant man than the Commodus of the present. He loves his grandkids and plays chess to teach them lessons about life. He has salt and pepper hair and a goatee. Strong build, and is joyful. He has a wonderful life. He sees the good in his family and only wants to provide the greatest opportunities. Caucasian.

Handsome and gifted, Gerald is a competitive amateur boxer and is doing quite well for himself. Dark-haired, styled, and clean shaven, Gerald is an all-American type of kid, full ride to his Ivy League university. Knowing he has a Bishop last name, he is a little on the cocky side. Caucasian.

Even though he is young, young Wade is a confident young man. However, he does not have a good grasp on his emotions as they can get the best of him. His overconfidence allows him to make mistakes, and when things do not go as expected, he reacts. He loves sports and is usually seen in apparel with bright, strong colours. Caucasian.

Young Eve is a timid young lady who is very unsure of herself most of the time, and is scared to make a move for fear that it may be the wrong one. As a polar opposite to her brother Wade, where he is overconfident, she lacks. With a constant feeling that she will never be good enough, her ability to shine is inhibited.
