Nikolai is the silent protagonist of the film. He is a middle aged man who has lost his wife, but he is kept company by her spirit, which he guides through the country side in pursuit of a place where they can both finally reach peace. He is physically and emotionally drained, and his mind has begone to betray him. Although he doesn't speak he communicates his great pain through his eyes and his actions.

The Photographer is a wiser older man who gives Nikolai a lift on his journey. He is a religious and philosophical man, who shares stories with Nikolai about life and fate. Actors with a European accent are encouraged to apply. This role contains scenes of smoking (fake cigarettes).

Gladys is a senior aged woman who owns multiple cats. She presents herself as very proper, but she also has an adventurous side. The video spot will see Gladys sitting on a bed talking about some of her previous One Night Stands.

Don works at a high end marketing agency. While at work he takes himself very seriously. Known to have a few glasses of whisky while at home. Don also has a goofy side. He loves his dog Caesar.
