The Summer Serenader is a dynamic singer/actor/performer working primarily in-person, and occasionally through online platforms. They are an energetic and positive performer that can sing and is adept at acting improv, and have an interest in connecting with seniors and those who live in care environments. They preferably can self-accompany on an instrument, though it is not required. Performers who are multilingual are especially encouraged to apply. The Summer Serenader collaborates with other ensemble members on creating and offering ongoing musical performances to seniors in a variety of contexts, including care homes, hospitals, seniors’ centres, outdoors and online. They are creative, flexible, able to work both collaboratively in group settings, and independently. The Summer Serenader is willing and able to take leadership when called upon to do so, and also support and encourage the leadership of others. They are true ensemble members. Most importantly, the Summer Serenader is a positive, caring, genuine, creative individual, willing and eager to give time and attention to isolated seniors and people in care settings, and creatively collaborate with fellow artists.

TED (to play 18yo, male) TED is lanky and confident with a reputation for being a ladies man. He has a hot and cold relationship with Abby, consistently pushing her boundaries while saying they should keep things casual. Gary is suspicious of his intentions and enraged by his treatment of his sister. Actor must be 18 or older.

TYLER (to play 8yo, male) TYLER is Sara’s wiry little brother. Sam recruits him in a scheme for his crush Sara’s attentions. Though Tyler initially seems slow to catch on to the plan, he is far more clever than he lets on.

HEADMISTRESS (to play 50s, female) The HEADMISTRESS of a German orphanage for girls, she rules with an iron fist. She believes that being strict is what is best for the girls. When someone steps out of line, she is quick to punish them. MUST SPEAK FLUENT GERMAN This role opens up the picture.

Texte pour audition du rôle de Ahanu Dans le cadre de mon projet de recherche final pour l'école, j'ai visité un centre régional de gouvernance des données des Premières Nations pour comprendre comment ils peuvent servir nos communautés. J'ai rencontré le directeur et la grand-mère en résidence pour une visite. Ils m'ont demandé sur quoi je travaillais. Je leur ai dit : j'apprends l'incroyable résilience de nos Nations. Non seulement nous avons survécu, mais certains prospèrent dans des domaines comme la santé, le logement et la sécurité alimentaire.

En ce moment, je travaille avec une communauté qui tente de protéger sa biodiversité du changement climatique. Tirant parti de l'enquête géospatiale, ils suivent les données sur les animaux et les patchs médicaux. Nous soutenons également les pêcheurs qui stockent un congélateur communautaire au bout du couloir avec des aliments et des médicaments traditionnels. Nous avons même une bibliothèque de semences autochtones.
