Dylan (male 17): Dylan’s got the surfer dude vibe with a side of serious daddy issues. His dad’s tough-guy routine has him questioning who he really is, and things get worse when Lennon punches him in the face over a bullying comment. Add to that the awkward reveal that his dad and Lennon’s mom had a fling—cue major drama. Dylan’s caught between a fistfight and family secrets—will he come out on top or sink in the mess? RECURRING. YOUTH MINISTER DANIELS
YOUTH MINISTER DANIELS (MALE OR FEMALE late 20s): A man of God who has spent his formative years devoted to what he knows to be true. Minister Daniels is in charge of running the various support groups the church holds; AA meetings, the DSA and the newest group: An LGBTQIA+ alliance meeting. The minister's main dream is to connect with others, and inspire them to pursue an honest life. He used to travel all over the world, spreading his message to the masses, but had found peace settling in this smaller town. Will he long for adventure once again, or strive for a breakthrough with one lost soul? RECURRING. Please audition scene 2.
Nancy
[INUK] Nancy is around 18 years old, bright, loving, creative, and fearless. A quiet soul but a bold artist and performer. She takes her time to warm up to people, and is not blind to the ways in which she is looked down upon, but she trusts her vision and that of her ancestors to help her rise above. Her personal style might be a blend of 1910s fashion with traditional Arctic dress.

Anne
Anne is nervous, pessimistic and lovelorn. Despite being a true romantic, Anne is an inexperienced dater because of her high expectations for love. Anne is stubborn, but no matter how much she detests cheesy couples, it has gotten to the point where her loneliness outweighs her preconceived notions. She’s the kind of girl who loathes online dating - otherwise known as dating people like a slot machine, or flipping two cards over and hoping they match. She is an undercover rom-com lover and dreams of a whirlwind romance like the ones she reads about or watches on TV. Anne is anxious about dating but is pushed out of her comfort zone by her best friend Collette on an unforgettable blind double date. This role requires mild intimacy including kissing and clothed skin to skin contact.
Max
Max is your typical romantic lead in an early 2000s film. He is charming, warm, and playful regarding banter and wit. He is easy to hold a conversation with. He is there for a good time AND a long time. If you are in a relationship with him he is your best friend. He knows how to have fun but also how to be serious and genuine. He gives off a protective vibe when you are with him and is not afraid to take the lead in a social situation, openly communicating what is on his mind. This role requires mild intimacy including kissing and clothed skin to skin contact.
Collette
Collette is extraverted, blunt and gorgeous. She's the best friend you could ask for. Sure, she can be a little overbearing at times but she will always have your best interest in mind! She is supportive of her friends and fills life with passion and excitement. She has control over every social situation she is in. She has a generous mindset and is the kind of person to go above and beyond to please someone. She values a good time above any practicality.
Ryan
Ryan is dorky, narcisistic and oblivious. He is your standard geeky guy with a large ego. In reality, none of his jokes land and he has no sense of social cues. He lives in his own world most of the time and likes to think of himself as far more “cool” than he actually is. He is confident but is not aware of his own awkwardness. His ego allows him to miss a lot of what is going on around him.
Kamal
Actor must be Iranian, fluent in both English and Persian. Formerly a writer, he is a tailor and currently leads what appears to be a tranquil life alongside his wife, Mehri. However, beneath the surface, inner turmoil brews. Kamal grapples with the desire to rejuvenate the vitality in both himself and Mehri. Despite his outgoing nature, he conceals a multitude of emotions, leading to a distressing incident where he attempts to strangle his wife. His strained relationship with his daughter stems from an intolerance towards her chosen lifestyle and freedom of choice in their new country. Habitually controlling, Kamal gradually realizes the inadequacy of adhering strictly to patriarchal patterns in both parenting and marital dynamics as the narrative unfolds.
Julianne
Actor is black. She's a lawyer. She's dating Tina and has moved in with her, but she tries to hide the truth about their relationship from Tina's parents. She's religious. She has a son, James, who sometimes drives her crazy because he never listens to her. She's been an influence on Tina's life ever since she entered it. She is caring and has helped Tina stop using drugs.
riel
Actor is Caucasian. A 19-year-old girl. She's a masseuse. She's all about fun and is full of life. She has a lot of friends and is outgoing. She is vibrant, kind, and attractive. and she has a good sense of humor. She's a neighbor in the building where Kamal and Mehri live. Kamal really likes her and finds her attractive.
James
Actor is black. James is a musician. He plays the guitar. He's vibrant, easy going, and eccentric. He brings a goat as a present for Tina. He is Julianne's son. He has a good relationship with Nathan and Tina and is cool about the fact that his mom is dating a girl who's much younger than her.
neighbor
Actor must be Caucasian. She's strict and doesn't like her neighbor, Tina, because she makes a lot of noises. She's threatened her many times to call the police on her, but has never done that. She just likes her peace and quiet.
Mrs. Najm
Actor is Middle-Eastern preferably with an accent. She's very curious and doesn't mind sticking her nose in other people's affairs. She's friends with Mehri and cares about her.
Mr. Garcia
Actor is preferably Hispanic. He's a repairman and takes his job seriously. He knows Mehri and Kamal as he always fixes things around their apartment. Mehri sometimes flirts with him and this makes him slightly uncomfortable.
Frankie
Frankie is a quiet grunge musician who was closest to the recently deceased, Seth, and feels guilty about not being there for him. Once Frankie begins to communicate with Seth’s spirit, Frankie believes that he can reconcile his grief, and repair his friendships by convincing his other bandmates of the reason for his supernatural sighting. Preferably longer hair. Must be comfortable around cigarette lighters.
Seth
Seth is a complicated and mysterious figure. When he was alive, Seth’s only family was his bandmates, so he is desperate to hold onto them. When he loses them, he takes his own life. In death, Seth believes that by making contact with Frankie there is a chance that his former bandmates may repair their relationship. Preferably longer hair. Must be comfortable with SFX makeup. Must be comfortable using a cigarette lighter.
Dave
Dave is quite logical, and has a hard exterior. He’s quick to disbelieve Frankie when Frankie claims to see Seth’s spirit. Dave is afraid Frankie’s grief is making him mentally unstable, and wants to protect him. But even his concern comes across as cruel. Preferably shorter hair. Preferable to have drum experience. Must be comfortable around fire/lighters.
Joey
Joey is the laid back, jokester of the group who prefers to stay out of conflict. Joey wants to simply lay Seth’s ashes, and kick back with his friends at their old summer camp. Unfortunately, his friends are at each other’s throats, and Joey is torn; he wants to believe Frankie’s supernatural sightings, but doesn’t want to mediate the fights between Dave and Frankie. Must be comfortable with on-screen smoking. Must be comfortable around cigarette lighters.
