Married to Frank, she is a voice of reason within the community and the only one Frank will ever listen to. Barbara is a grounded woman, who can see the writing on the wall and might just have a plan to save Tell Tale Harbour.

HENRY should have a good contemporary music theatre or pop sound, various ranges. HENRY is a plant worker. Married to Gus. He is a funny, kind and community minded man, willing to do whatever it takes to help Tell Tale Harbour. (Strong movement or dance ability is a plus.)

A quiet man, deeply in love with Henry and the life they have created on Tell Tale Harbour. Gus is a collector of fiddles. (Fiddle playing is a bonus but not essential to casting)

GINA alto/mezzo soprano with character. plant worker. The most senior member of the community. Gina has worked the fish plant her whole life. She bakes bread every morning for members of the community and despite her advanced age, she is the hardest working person in Tell Tale Harbour.

LOUISE is a plant worker and Legion bar-keep. Single and too busy to be looking. Louise runs the legion bar and is therefore an essential part of every social occasion. (Strong movement or dance ability is a plus.)

GORD should have a good contemporary music theatre or pop sound. Various ranges. GORD is a plant worker. He is a single man whose passion for Tell Tale Harbour has replaced any romantic notion of a relationship. An eager and willing conspirator to all of Frank’s schemes.

MARIE should have a good contemporary music theatre or pop sound. Various ranges. Marie is a plant worker. An immigrant who has moved to Tell Tale Harbour in pursuit of a better life for her and her family. She is single, with family she supports back home. Marie is trying to get a permanent residency to bring her children to Canada. Strong movement or dance ability is a plus.

CHIP should have a good contemporary music theatre or pop sound. Various ranges. CHIP is middle manager of Agro Foods business. A city man with little care for the small communities his business affects. Chip is on a mission to shut down plants across Atlantic Canada and sadly drags Barbara along with him. (FRANK understudy)

LIV (30s, Non-Binary, any ethnicity, femme or masc presenting)* *Must be comfortable with simulated sex and partial nudity. Intimacy coordinator will be present. A neurodivergent, , aromantic, sex positive queerdo, with a dry sense of humour and unique perspective on life. While they are a fiercely loyal friend, their lack of social grace can sometimes cause tension between them and their best friend, Mel. Their life's ambition is to move to a desert island, surrounded by cats. This short is a proof of concept for a series that we're pitching in the fall. Liv is a recurring character in the series and if we were to cast we would also consider whether the actor would be the right fit for the series as a whole.

Charlotte (mid 30s, Female, Queer, Any ethnicity) Must be comfortable with intimacy and simulated sex. Intimacy coordinator will be present. Classic beauty meets alternative punk. Charlotte generally has a "Fuck the man" attitude, but sometimes a sad softness slips through the cracks. She owns a bar in the west end and lives that hard, bartender life. With a complicated home life, she tries to find whatever distractions she can, not only in her work, but in the beautiful women that frequent her bar. This short is a proof of concept for a series that we're pitching in the fall.
