Melissa
Melissa is an ultra successful motivational speaker and savvy business woman. She’s witty, and takes no B.S from anyone. She’s overcome a lot of barriers to achieve her success and the fact she may still be in love with her annoying ex, Charles Charles, bothers her to no end.
Manu
Manu is an eccentric lawyer whose biggest passion is suing brands for market misrepresentation. He takes great pride in winning, to the point of obsession, and this leads him to take on some questionable cases. He’s a reluctant friend/adviser to the failing businessman, Charles Charles.
Jack
19, shaggy hair, weak build, forgettable face. On the surface, he’s a complete loser with no ambition or prospects. After barely getting through high school, he’s taken a year off to figure out what he wants to do with himself. Though he’s very well-read and cultivated in music and literature, college is not for him, and it’s not like he has the means for it either. He disagrees with a lot of the institutions and systems put in place in the country, but not in an anarchist way, but more in a William Wordsworth type of way. He’ll tell people that his favourite band is Soundgarden, but he’s secretly a huge Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young fan.
Ricky
21, long hair, taller than Jack, convinced his goatee is finally coming in. He remembers their father leaving more vividly, and has outwardly translated that trauma by developing an obsession with anything provocative as a way to get a reaction out of people, partially for attention, partially as a cry for help. He doesn’t really know what his future will exactly look like, but that doesn’t concern him, because he’s much more concerned about the now. Raised on television and rockstars in magazines, Ricky has done all the necessary research for becoming a dirtbag, and he’s at a point in his life now where he’s finally putting theory into practice by leaving home to ‘make it big’ with his band. He’s willing to die trying to become Kirk Hammett, no matter what it takes.
Elaine
50s-60s, graying hair, still dresses like it’s the 80s. Forced to raise two boys alone, the mother found Christ and has since entertained that with all her free time, as it’s her only hobby. She so badly wanted a shot at normal life, but she believes that her chance at happiness is long gone, so she accepts the reality she’s faced with and (much like her younger son) does nothing to control what her life can look like or create joy for herself.
DJ
A vibrant and energetic figure that brings life to the lodge's grand opening with a mix of upbeat and crowd-pleasing music.
BARTENDER
A bartender working an event at Sullivan's Crossing.
CUSTOMER
A patron at Sullivan’s Crossing, who interacts briefly with Sully and Cal at the Outpost.
Mercedes Jones
Mercedes Jones, 30, cis woman. Struggling comedian living in a trailer with grandma. Awkward and dirty minded, but looks out for her own fiercely. This role requires smoking on camera.
Cecilia
Cecilia, 25, cis woman. Housewife of a well-off mob boss. Naive yet temperamental.
Bobby
Bobby, 60s, cis male. Mob boss in Las Vegas. Thinks he’s smarter than he is, but his power makes up the gaps.
Grandma
Grandma, 70s, cis woman. Smoker. Turn on her stories at 7 and leave her be. This role requires smoking on camera.
Jeremy
Nervous and lonely, Jeremy has spent most of his life unable to remove his astronaut costume, finding comfort in it being able to isolate or protect himself from the exterior world. Yet this comfort has become a bit of a double-edged sword, the idea of having to take off the helmet for good is a big source of Jeremy’s anxiety, but he longs to be seen as normal. He’s tired of the staring, the jokes and feeling like he doesn’t fit in society. He’s romanticized the idea of being “normal” in his head for quite a while now, thinking it would fix all his problems without realizing that the source of his real issues comes from a deep self-hatred of the person that he is and his isolation from the people who want to help him. *NOTES: Performer must be comfortable wearing potentially restrictive costume (astronaut suit)*
Sam
Sam has been in Jeremy’s position before, similarly a nervous wreck until he managed to search deep into his own soul and come out having found his own inner peace. He can still sometimes be a bit awkward but in general he’s confident and sure of himself, wishing to help others come to the same conclusion about himself like he did. Sam is proud of who he is and his own scuba diver costume, having taken Hannah’s group therapy sessions seriously and coming out of it having accepted his flaws and all. Despite his own personal growth he can often be impatient with others who don’t seem to align with his own views of self-acceptance, particularly Jeremy. Yet his good nature still shines through as he wishes that Jeremy gets better rather than seeing him fail. *NOTES: Performer must be comfortable wearing potentially restrictive costume (scuba/wetsuit)*
Government Worker
Tired and annoyed at every little request, the government worker just wants to go home and watch the same soap opera they have already watched thousands of times before. Their passion for their work is just like their patience, almost non-existent. Yet when their limit is reached there is no explosion of rage and anger, instead the government worker just rolls their eyes and becomes passive aggressive. It’s surprising that despite their monotone attitude they haven’t gotten fired yet. They may be good at their job but they won’t lie about the fact that they’re only doing it because they get paid.
Hannah
Hannah is the professional therapist and organizer of the outcast therapy group, she’s patient and cares about each member of the group, never growing impatient or angry against those who are part of the group. After all, she's been doing this for quite a few years now and has quite a lot of experience. Not many things surprise her anymore in terms of stories or outbursts from her patients, preferring to let them self-reflect rather than intrude when things get a bit heated.
Robert
Not much is known about Robert, but one thing is certain - they’re going through a rough time. Robert is new to the therapy group, having recently joined it after being made fun of by the love of their life once he revealed his own costumed obsession. Robert may appear a bit somber and down on his luck but they’re trying their best and genuinely hopes to one day feel better about themselves. Surprisingly enough, they seem to have more friends at the therapy group than Jeremy.
Victor
A bit naïve but kind hearted, Victor’s true passion in life is stamps and how they taste, he could talk endlessly about the texture and flavor of each stamp category at the postal office if given the chance. Of course, he wishes to share this knowledge with most folks but also understands when his tastes don’t match with his peers. *NOTES: Performer must be comfortable having prop paper stamps in mouth (not to be ingested)*
Frat Bros
Drunk and barely able to string sentences together the frat bro is just there to have a good time and try to impress their friend by making fun of an easy target. But once things get weird, the alcohol and their own confusion take over as they want nothing to do with Jeremy once he’s “freaking out”. *NOTES: multiple actors to be cast for this role.*
