JILL
LEAD - JILL, 35 Jill is a resilient yet vulnerable woman battling an unknown muscular disorder that has left her reliant on a wheelchair. Despite her physical challenges, she remains hopeful and deeply wants to regain her independence. Jill struggles with feelings of guilt and burden due to her condition, but her inner strength is evident as she navigates her complicated relationship with her husband and seeks support from those around her. Her interactions reveal a strong will to overcome her situation and a desire for genuine care and understanding.
STAN
LEAD - STAN, 35 Stan is a manipulative and self-centered human whose profession as a pharmacist has only amplified his arrogance. He is frustrated by his wife Jill’s condition, which he perceives as a hindrance to his own desires and ambitions. Driven by greed and a desire for personal gain, Stan resorts to unethical and cruel measures, including administering dangerous medication and plotting to profit from Jill's life insurance. His character is marked by a lack of empathy and a willingness to exploit those around him for his benefit.
ABBY
LEAD -ABBY, 45 Abby is a dedicated and compassionate support worker who genuinely cares for Jill. She provides kindness and reassurance amidst the chaos created by Stan’s actions. Abby’s empathy shines through her work, and she is committed to making Jill’s life as comfortable as possible. Her role extends beyond just performing her duties; she becomes an ally in uncovering the truth about Stan’s deceit. Abby’s character represents the positive influence of caring professionals who stand up for their clients. HMU & WARDROBE: Easy and natural. Hair pulled back, minimal makeup, simple jewelry is OK.

JENNY
LEAD - JENNY (18-29) Jenny is an ordinary woman thrust into extraordinary circumstances. Initially appearing timid and hesitant, she reveals an unexpected courage when confronted with domestic violence. Her determination to help Sandra, coupled with her quick thinking and resourcefulness, transforms her from a bystander to a hero. Despite facing fear and intimidation, Jenny's unwavering belief in justice drives her to take risks and ultimately save a life.
RICHARD
Richard is a menacing and manipulative bully with a chilling facade of authority. Beneath his gruff exterior lies a cunning predator who uses his position as a police officer to control and intimidate those around him. His violent outbursts and disregard for human life reveal a dangerous and volatile personality, making him a formidable and terrifying adversary.
SANDRA
Sandra is Richard’s wife. After years of abuse her spirit has been broken and she doesn’t believe her life will ever change. Initially appearing meek and compliant, she is a woman silently enduring a living hell, her physical injuries mirroring the deep wounds inflicted upon her soul. Despite her fear, she harbors a flicker of hope, reaching out for salvation when the opportunity arises, revealing a survivor's instinct beneath her shattered exterior.
CHRISTOPHER
Christopher is Sandra’s concerned brother who is actively searching for her whereabouts. When he is presented with the opportunity to spread the word about her case, he takes it, in hopes it will bring his sister home. He is unfortunately unaware that her abuser, Richard, is closer than he could ever know.
TUCKER
Any ethnicity. Tucker is an animated, sociopathic extrovert and drug kingpin who wears the gaudiest outfits. He walks with an arrogant confidence he has never earned. The character's inspiration comes from early 2000s Chris Tucker, as well as J.B. Smoove and Katt Williams.

Mother
*Open ethnicity. Darker hair is preferred but we're considering all applicants at this time.* Ingénue's mother. Her own failure as an actress has lead her to live vicariously through her daughter and to pressure her to reach the success she was never able to. Through flashbacks we see how her behavior has lead Ingénue to grow up to be who she is now.

*Must have dark hair. Child performer is required to have a chaperone/guardian with them at all times during filming and will only be required for a half day shoot.* Our lead as a child. Seen in a flashback where her mother pressures her to perform. This is a pivotal scene for the story as it shows how her mother's behavior has affected Ingénue from an early age.

LEAD - VALERIE, 40 Valerie is a devoted mother and a fiercely emotional woman who has sacrificed her career for her family. She is deeply hurt by her husband Jon’s infidelity and is fighting for her rights and her daughter, Amy.
JON
LEAD - JON, 40 Jon is a man driven by self-interest, attempting to move on from his marriage while navigating his relationship with Melissa. His actions reveal his focus on his own desires and his disregard for Valerie’s feelings.
