Paul Holiday
The best friend of the main character Thomas. He's a 17-year-old student at Pembrooke Academy, an all-boys boarding school. Loud and deviant, Paul is Thomas' foil and pushes him to live a more adventurous life. From a privileged background, Paul is more concerned with parties and pinups than anything else, but he's still a fierce friend. He tries to convince others to think he's a lot cooler and more mature than he is, and he also tries to convince himself, that he craves that validation.
Clark
A 17-year-old student at Pembrooke Academy, an all-boys boarding school. He is a member of the lead character Thomas' friend group. He is the oldest of the boys and is quieter and more thoughtful than Thomas' other friends. He goes along with their nonsense but he also reality checks them when he needs to. He's the voice of reason. He knows not to take his opportunity for granted and cares more about school than the others.
Raymond
A 17-year-old student at Pembrooke Academy, an all-boys school. He is a member of the lead character Thomas' group of friends. He is the youngest, and the punching bag of the group. He chimes in too often and makes a fool of himself, as he isn't the sharpest. He's a loyal friend and cares more about hijinks than school.
Headmaster Sanford
The headmaster of Pembrooke Academy, an all-boys boarding school. He tries to assume a mentorship position for his students, including Thomas the lead. He is stern with his authority but is very eloquent in his teaching and empathetic in his approach, he does his best to be sensitive to the boys' issues and look out for their best interest. Come the story's end, he sees Thomas' failure as his own.
Father Ellsworth
The pastor at Pembrooke Academy, an all-boys school. He is a mean bastard. The school's iron fist. He harshly dishes out punishment to students, and in particular, has an out for (co-lead) Dickie. He doesn't speak but hangs over the entire film as a looming danger, and always exists in the periphery of the frame. He gets off on beating and threatening the students, abusing his power, full of resentment.
Samantha
Any ethnicity. Burned out and unhappy with her life. Overworked, overstressed, and spending too much time on TikTok and dating apps. When her younger self suddenly appears and challenges her to a Pokemon battle, Samantha finds herself rediscovering her sense of play.
Young Samantha
Any ethnicity. The younger version of Samantha, full of mischief and annoyed at how her future self turned out. She resolves to shake things up through an epic Pokémon battle.
Carol
Carol’s husband passed away soon after their son was born, forcing her to work two jobs to support her family. She continues to care deeply for Peter, though he’s always hiding in his room and refusing to communicate with her. Carol is a short, sweet, and optimistic woman. Despite the hardships in her life, she remains the most bubbly and positive member of her friend group.
Paula
Paula is a successful businesswoman, married with two kids. She hasn’t had a relationship with Peter for years and severed ties with him when she learned of his drug addiction. She blames their mother to some extent but also feels some responsibility herself for Peter’s situation.
Peter
Peter lives with his mother and struggles with a heroin addiction. He is slim for his height and rarely leaves his room. Peter has never been a stellar student and often hung out with the wrong crowd. Things worsened after his sister Paula moved out—he started experimenting with weed, which eventually led him to heroin.
Young Peter
a younger version of Peter. No dialogue.
Khalid
A stoic and protective Arabic father in his late 30s, Khalid struggles to reconcile his grief and mistrust with the fragile hope of connection as he meets a grieving mother from a world he views with deep skepticism.
Noor
A compassionate and resilient Arabic mother in her mid-30s, Noor serves as the emotional anchor of her family, navigating the tension between her husband’s guarded nature and the hope for understanding and healing.
Fadhi
A young Palestinian boy, Fadhi is shy and introspective, carrying the weight of his young experiences while navigating a tense meeting that challenges his understanding of loss, identity, and connection.
Miriam
A compassionate yet grief-stricken Jewish mother in her mid-40s, Miriam seeks connection and closure.
THE GREASER
THE GREASER (19, Athletic, 1950's greaser-type wardrobe with a leather/fetish gear influence) Stalks the shadows of Cortland, viscously slaying young men in the area with auto shop equipment.
GLEN
GLEN (18, Athletic, Scruffy, Confident) Boyfriend to Scott and Victim to The Greaser.
SCOTT
SCOTT (18, Skinny, Clean cut, Anxious) Boyfriend to Glenn, witness to Glen's violent murder.
Elvira
24 year old Elvira dissociates a lot. She often wishes she was somewhere else, and wonders how she ended up where she did. Her brain is as fragmented as her life is - as a young mom to five year old Leo. Elvira is fun, warm, and has so much love for the people around her. However, disappointing them seems to be the only thing she really manages. The actor should be comfortable with partial nudity (in a bra), simulated sexual actions (kissing in a bathroom stall), and being underwater. An intimacy coordinator will be present on set.
Greta
GRETA (18 - 25) Idealistic, Courageous, Desperate. Female, open to all races and backgrounds! A character that can easily be delegated to the role of a heroine. However, this is a young, innocent girl, who is going through the impossible to save her friend. Staying true to her childlike nature is what what will give this character complexity. As there is no dialogue in this spot, I would need the actor to be especially expressive with their expressions and body language in order to communicate their intense fears and hopes. Actors with a background in mime or dance would be especially helpful.
