Lola
Lola is a long-time colleague of Dodd and a fellow Drama/Arts teacher at the school. She’s one of the only people who knows Dodd’s soft spots and understands him better than anyone at the school. She is definitely more popular with the students and has really bubbly guidance counsellor energy. These days more students hope to get Lola instead of Dodd as their drama teacher.
Hannah
Hannah is an 18-year-old girl who arrives home after a terrible prom night - she caught her best friend flirting with her date! At least, that's how it looked to her. Unwilling to express her emotions to her mom, who she views as well-meaning but overbearing, and with nobody else to talk to, she sulks in her room all night alone. She eventually meets Harry, who calls out to her from her TV. Hannah confides in Harry about her evening after he presents himself as a sympathetic friend, but becomes suspicious of him later when he starts to push her into leaving her world behind to join him on the TV. Eventually, she decides not to listen to Harry and attempts to shut off her TV while Harry becomes increasingly aggressive. Hannah appears 16-20, with no other requirements for her appearance, actor must 18+.
Harry
Harry was a deeply troubled 20-year-old boy who mysteriously became trapped inside the world of television back in the 1960s. Now, after nearly 40 years essentially living as a sentient TV character on a late-night game show rerun, he meets Hannah. Harry entertains himself by manipulating and coercing viewers of his TV show, and intends to do the same with Hannah by using sympathy and good looks. He has an intensity that unsettles the audience and makes us doubt his intentions. Harry appears 18-24, with no other requirements for his appearance.
Narrator
The Narrator will be the one telling the story of ‘The Girl in the Bush by the Woodsman’s House.’ He will be an old and wise storyteller, reminiscent of older fairytale movies—similar to the narration in The Princess Bride (1987) or Stardust (2007). This role is solely narrative.
Leo
A young Asian man in his 20s, a political refugee trapped in sex work. He’s emotionally detached, yearning for freedom, symbolized by his fascination with birds. Leo’s interactions reveal moments of vulnerability and quiet defiance. There will be INTIMACY scene, can speak any east / southeast asian languages, smoking scene (fake cigarettes will be provide), comfortable with shirtless scenes
Joy
A rebellious Asian woman in her 20s, fascinated by birds and their freedom. She’s Leo’s close friend, sharing a sense of displacement and hope, while maintaining a strong, resilient spirit. Can speak any east asian languages, smoking scene (fake cigarettes will be provide)
Customer
A controlling and abusive man who exploits Leo, embodying power and dominance. His presence highlights Leo’s struggle with oppression and control. White male, there will be INTIMACY scene, comfortable showing their bare feet
Ensemble
There are 4-7 ensemble roles. All roles will portray 2-3 characters of many different types. These actors should be flexible (not literally) and funny.
Stalker
"Stalker" is a closeted 'DL' guy from the main characters high school. He begins to show a sexual interest in the main character. This role requires intimacy.

African American. A brilliant musical prodigy and pianist. Very strong lead with an intensely dramatic arc. Historical figure, true events. (General American accent.)

Black, British, fatherly. Pivotal supporting role.
Queen Victoria
Caucasian. Facial resemblance to the historical Victoria is not necessary. Strong cameo, one scene. Based on a true event.
Jake
Jake is a young boy who has determination like no other. He seeks out a vampire to cure his incompetence in life. He wants to be stronger than he is now to get his father's approval and to stop feeling lesser than his brother. He's smart but not wise enough to realize that his path to strength will lead to a path of loneliness that will last for generations. Reginald Mackenzie
Reginald is a centuries-old vampire stuck in a coffin. He was stabbed in the right side of his chest, which injured him enough to immobile him. He's been stuck inside for years before Jake shows up and makes a deal with him. He sees a part of himself within Jake and tries to deter him from turning into a vampire. He looks back on his life through Jake and feels regret for what he has done. He seeks a conclusion to his story by stopping Jake from the fate that haunted him in his long life.
Henry
Henry, a hardened survivor, scarred by the traumatic loss of his wife, seeks to keep his group safe. When one of his fellow survivors is bitten, Henry is adamant on eliminating the threat of the infection before it spreads. Though he is driven by the need for redemption and atonement, he fears he may not be doing what is right. Henry should have a pronounced beard, wields a prop weapon and requires some make-up and special effects.
